Wedding Invitations & Paper

Help, return envelope address?

I just got my invitations delivered! Smile
Unfortunately, I didn't realize (they didn't make it clear) that my invitations apparently do not come with return envelopes.  I had filled out information regarding a return address for the Response Cards, which I wrongfully assumed would be put on envelopes.  I just found out that the address is printed on the back of the Response Card and I am left without envelopes for people to reply with.
Luckily, I found a box of envelopes laying around that come very close to matching the color of my invitations and fit the response card size, but now do I have to have them printed up with the return address? Or can I leave them blank and allow the responders to write it in themselves (since it is provided on the back of the Response Card)? I feel like I am going to have a hard time matching the font and everything (not to mention needing to shell out more money...)
Sorry for the rant and rave...just a little annoyed with the invo company at the moment
THANKS

Re: Help, return envelope address?

  • I would print them myself.  It will be ok if they don't match the font perfectly.

Are you sure the response cards are not meant to be postcards?
  • So the back of the response card is printed with your return address.  Is this a poscard?  I admit I'm a little confused.  Did you order these online?
  • It is printed on the back sort of like a postcard, yes.  But it is not a postcard.  It wasn't pictured that way when I ordered them, but admittedly I couldn't see the back.
It's just weird that it was printed that way when I didn't expect it.  It doesn't look horrible and no one will probably even notice, but it surprised me.  I otherwise love the invitations.  They are just what I wanted aside for this confusion.  I've decided to include my own return envelopes anyway.

If you want to use the envelopes and put your return address on them, in addition to the stamp idea you could get some of the clear labels from an office supply store and print them up from your computer.
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
