Ok here is my dilemma, I sent out my invitations and I started to get my RSVP's back. So far I have 4 cards and 2 without names. I read the other posts and the other suggestions to help but those suggestions are a little late for me because I already sent them out. I realized that I forgot to put a line on the RSVP itself so that the guest can put there names. I figured maybe they would put there return address on the envelop but they are not and now I was thinking about writing a letter and sending it out to all the guests, except for the ones who sent back with a name, explaining what happened and either having them call with their response or send out another RSVP with the letter.
I think the letter would be a little awkward, and draws attention to your mistake of leaving out a line for everyone's name. Agree that you're just going to have to wait until your RSVP deadline and make a lot of phone calls.
I agree with PP....dont stress about it and dont send the awkward letter. Just wait and see how it turns out. Call the ones that didnt RSVP after the deadline just to check and make sure. Like I said, dont stress. You have enough to be worried about; just see how it plays out and go from there!

I don't know what I was thinking when I didn't put a name line on the rsvp. I figure I will wait until I get most in and then figure it out from there. I know I have some guests that put their return address on the envelop which was a big help.
I know this info is a little late for you, but as a tip to other people who might read this....one of FI's cousins told me to number my response cards (write a small number on the back or somewhere not noticable) to the corresponding number on my invite list. That way if someone forget's to write their name on the card, I can just check the card against my guest list to see who sent it.
You can also check the postmark... whatever post office processes the envelope will put a mark on it with the name of the town it was mailed from. This won't be all that helpful if a lot of your invites are coming from the same town, but it might help you narrow it down. Good luck!
I thought of going by the postmark but I do have alot of family in the same area. I only received 3 so far without names. The others that I received have names or return address on them so that helps.
