I have seen sample invites online in the past that started out "with joyous hearts..." and I really like that, however I also want to say "together with their families" as our parents our contributing a little. Does it sound awkward to say:
With joyous hearts
Brides Name
and
Grooms Name
Together with their families
request the pleasure of your company as they exchange vows
Wedding Date
at
Wedding location.
any other suggestions?
Re: with joyous hearts?!?
Together with their families
Bride
and
Groom
Request the pleasure of your company as they exchange vows with joyous hearts at
Wedding location
on
Wedding Date
IMO, it's always best to put the parents first. Just like you wouldn't start a sentence with I and my parents, the same holds here.
Dresses may be easier to take in than let out, but guest lists are not. -- kate51485
Also not a fan of the expression...because I assume everyone is sending out their invitations with "joyous hearts" (or at least I hope most people are!). It doesn't add anything in my opinion.
If you want to get the concept of "joy" in though, how about:
Brides Name
and
Grooms Name
Together with their families
invite you to share in their joy as they exchange vows
