NON-pocketfold invites?

I'm planning to DIY my invites so I'm trying to consider all my options here, and just wanted to know more about non-pocketfold invites.

I know pocketfolds are all the rage right now, but I'm not sure I would have enough extra information to put in multiple inserts in the pocket - a map with directions, hotel information (only doing one hotel block - not many out-of-town guests - which doesn't take up much space), and wedding website information could all conceivably fit on one insert (possibly front and back), which would only resulst in one insert plus the RSVP card and envelope in the pocket.

Therefore, I'm considering not doing pocketfolds and just doing flat invites instead (not to mention flat invites seem easier to make and cheaper too!).  But, if I were to go the non-pocketfold route, what do I do with the directions/accomodations insert and the RSVP card and envelope?  Just throw it in the inner envelope along with the flat invite?  Or something else?  Thanks!

Re: NON-pocketfold invites?

  • Yup! Well, if you are doing an RSVP with an envelope, you tuck them under the flap of the envelope. Some other people might know the "correct" order in which to assemble everything.

  • I was wondering the same thing!  Thanks for the info ladies :)
  • I don't know if I can describe this without a photo (I do not have a photo right now), but this is what I am considering doing. I really wanted to do pocketfolds but they are expensive and I do not have any extras other than RSVP. So on the back of the panel invites I am going to make a little "insert" to place the extras in. I will take a piece of ribbon and glue the ends just the back of the invites and then glue a small piece of colored paper (around the size of your RSVP) in the middle to cover the ribbon ends then you can slide the RSVP card/envelope and any other extras you have behind the ribbon. Then I will take a monogram tag and put it on the ribbon. Sorry if that is really confusing! I wish I had a photo, but I am just starting to shop around to make them!
