Putting 'and guest' on outer envelope?

I need some help with addressing my pocketfold invites, please!  The pockets fold in to make the envelope itself (PIB), and there is no inner envelope.  Is it okay to put 'and guest' on the mailing label?  Or should I add a small note to include on the inside?  Some of the people I would be fine just telling them in person/over the phone, but some are more distant relatives of FI's that I don't really know well.  Thanks for your help!

Re: Putting 'and guest' on outer envelope?

  • I didn't have an inner envelope, and simply included a note saying that they could bring a guest if they chose, and to please indicate this on the RSVP card.
  • I did belly bands for our pocketfolds, and instead of our monogram for the belly band (which I don't like as our initials are B & M, and I wouldn't use our new last initial because it's pre-ceremony), I put our guests names there inlieu of the inner envelope.  It worked out really well!  PIB.

  • I don't see anything wrong with writing 'and Guest' on the outer envelope. The bellyband idea is nice though.

Of course, it's best if you find out who it will be and write the name, but I know that can be really time consuming.
  • Thanks for the help ladies!  Some of my friends don't know yet who they're inviting, or else I would absolutely be putting names on the envelopes instead.  Since there's less than 10 people who will be 'and guest', we'll just write notes for their invites that will be included.  Thanks for the ideas, I really appreciate it.
