Wedding Invitations & Paper

Best website to create our own invites?

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best website where we can create our own invitations...we want beautiful, elegant invites for a great price.

I know there's so many website where we can create our own...so didnt know if any other brides have 1 particular site that they feel is the best deal/value.

Thanks,
Kerri

What do you mean by bueatiful and elegant? Do you want a trifold? A pocket? Multilayers?

  • Vistaprint is awesome! I ordered my STD from them and got great quality at an exceptional price (FREE). Keep an eye out on the DIY board, as knotties will post links to deals that VP sends out. You can also sign up for their emails to get the deals yourself.

  • I've heard lots of people recommend catprint.
  • Catprint is great if you have a design/can make your own design. They don't have templates like Vista Print. We did our STDs there because I designed them in Illustrator, but if you want a template, it's not the way to go, you're better off with VP.

  • thanks for the tips! The only thing I have is a wedding monogram that someone made for my fiance and I but other then that, I wouldn't consider myself very good with creating my own design/template. I do want a simple invite with just our logo on it...& our wedding colors blue/yellow so just those colors & our logo....so I'm not sure if I could find a template where I just insert our logo & colors on either of those sites.

  • I've had a ton of complements on my VistaPrint invites.
  • I am printing my own from the already packaged ones at Michaels, with the 40% off coupons online they are super cheap and very good quality. Plus they come with everything such as the reply cards
A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.
  • FI and Ijust designed ours (well he designed them, I gave him imput on what I wanted). He is awesome...omg they came out exactly how I wanted them look.

I had scoured the net (youtube has great sites for free diy wedding templates...I actually used one to come up with an idea for the invites). BUT since FI has graphic design skills, I didn't really need it afterall. If you have no experience with GD, I suggest thefreewedding.com (and any other site you come across on youtube, just type in diy wedding invitations). I felt thefreewedding was better for me (before i got FI's help). They come already prepared (but you will need someone to change up colors or designs as their selcetion is VERY limited.

Also google: they have various templates for free to download as well. I just LOVE LOVE my invitations and cannot wait to print them all up (we printed up just a couple to see what they will look like and to see what changes we need to make).

  • aw that sounds like great advice everyone...thank you! I'm having a close friend do save the dates for us for $100...he wants the experience, he has GD background and we liked what he could do but I wanted to do DIY invitations and everything else.
