They aren't too bad. I have to have them every 6 months because of my liver. If you don't like closed in places, ask about the open MRI. Or, some places will give you a sedative to help you out if you don't like being closed in. Depending on what you are getting looked at, you really can fall asleep. Sometimes they ask you to hold your breath-make sure you do or else they have to do them all over again. Good luck! They aren't too bad! Hope everything is ok!

way late M-but just wanted to throw in.....when i had an mri yrs back they put this contraption on my head. it had mirrors on it so that when i looked up i could actually see the people in the other room controlling the mri. it helped to know that i wasn't stuck in there all by myself (well, i was, but i could SEE people watching me, therefore making me feel less anxious). also-they asked me what radio station i wanted to hear, so they piped in something decent for me. i was up at passavant in cranberry. and if you have any jewelry that you might not want to take out, they'll test it with a magnet to see if it's ok. i had a belly ring at the time (RIP belly ring) and they didn't want me to take it out since it closes so quickly so they ran the magnet and it was fine to stay in.
All good advice. Thanks!! I want the mirror headgear! :P That seems like it would make me feel less anxious. Hopefully they have that. I'll let you all know how it goes.
