Stupid question about menu cards

This may be a stupid question but...on your menu cards, did you include the desert/cake/wedding cupcake information?

We're having a buffet style dinner, and now that I'm working on the menu cards I have no idea. I'm debating between putting our wedding cupcake flavors on the same menu card as the entrees (they will be on the reception tables), or just having a sign by the cupcake stand with the individual flavors.

My friend thinks that if we put them on the main menu card that people will want to grab a cupcake as they get up to get their plates instead of waiting until the cake cutting. She said this has happened before at a wedding she went to a few years ago.

What do you all think?

Re: Stupid question about menu cards

  • I would maybe stick with your menu cards for the dinner only. Print out a separate dessert menu and frame it and put it on the cake table. That way, you don't have to print out individual ones for everyone that will just get thrown away.

[QUOTE]You *could* make them just for the dessert table, but I wouldn't feel like going to all that trouble.  I wouldn't worry about people making a beeline for the desserts. ETA: So I would just do one card.

<div>I agree with this.  People surely won't take a cupcake if it's obvious that that's your wedding cake, particularly if it's set off the side and not with the rest of the buffet.  You could even call it something like, "wedding cupcakes" or whatever on the menu cards.</div>
