Asked your MOH and BM's yet?

Hey fellow May 2013 Brides! I was wondering if any of you have asked your bridal party to share your special day with you yet? We are getting married May 25th so almost at our one year mark!!? Or is everyone waiting for the traditional 6-9 monthes??

lol I asked 3 of my ladies within 1 month of being engaged and we got engaged May 2011 lol I asked another one in Nov and my probably last lady I asked her in April. Fi has 6 in his group I'm considering asking another friend will see though.

I was hasty and asked right away, of course the people I asked all knew they were going to be anyways.

I made the decision to have my one male friend and my FSIL only in the WP pretty quickly.  We asked them right away.

I asked mine.  My MOH was my sister since my mom basically told me she had to be.  I wasn't given a choice on that one.  That only bad thing is that now one of the girls I asked no longer talks to me, so I'm really not sure if she still plans on being a BM or not.

I've asked my MOH & BMs.  I got engaged last August so I waited a while before I asked them (around March I think is when I asked).  I'm having my best friend since I was 5, my 3 cousins, & my best friend from college. There was no chance of any of these people leaving my life so I didn't see a problem in asking them early.  

My FI has only has his BM & 2 GM so far. He's not sure who else he wants to ask just yet (if anyone, we're ok with uneven sides) which is fine.

We got engaged in March and asked everyone within a month. (we had been discussing it for awhile though) My BM are my best friends and close family so I really didnt see that changing unless some chatastrophic event takes place..  Same for my FI.

I asked mine within a week of being engaged. FI didnt ask any of his guys.

We asked everyone pretty soon which was a mistake because now we decided we aren't having an bridesmaids or groomsmen. We never really wanted any but in the moment while we were super excited about being engaged and wedding planning, we just started asking people. 

We were going to have 4 bridesmaids, 1 MOH, 3 groomsmen, 1 best man, 2 flower girls and 2 ringbearers. Now we are just have 1 MOH (my sister), 1 best man (my brother), 2 flower girls (my cousin and FI's mom's friend's daughter) and 2 ringbearers (2 of my cousins).

I had asked them all when I had told them that I was engaged, haha!  I wasted no time!

I asked mine about 2 months after we got engaged even though we hadn't set a date at that point.

The two I've asked so far are my sister and his sister, so those are no brainers.  I want 1-3 friends also, but I'm waiting on him to figure out his side.  We also might go gender neutral, so it might be more of a girls wear this color, guys wear this no matter which side they are on.

All of these are SO helpful!! I've read on other posts that you shouldn't ask until 9 monthes away because of the horror stories of people becoming enemies with their BM's and what not! But since our one year mark is this week I wanted to do something sweet to ask them ASAP. I have my 2 future SIL's, My cousin, and two best friends so I know nothing bad will happen, I just wanted to see if I was crazy wanting to ask them now!

I've already asked my 2 best friends because I definitely need their help in planning! LOL
 But there is one or two more people I will add, once my FI decides how many GM he wants!

I asked them right away...it's my sister and cousin and they knew they would be anyway.

im only having 1 of each lol . my daughter who will be 18 and a long time friend. my kid told me long time ago mom u ever marry dont make me maid of honor. i just wanna show up, walk and eat lol

Yup, I have one and it's my Big Sis from school. So she knew it was coming She was, however, surprised that I was asking ONLY her, and was super excited and honored.
P has already asked his guy too, who is his BFF from HS. He was also super stoked and couldn't believe P asked him.

I have my MOH and 2 bridesmaids asked although they pretty much knew ahead if time since we've talked about it.. Im debating if I want one more BM, but we have some time to decide!

I asked my girls less than a month after getting engaged.  I've always known who I planned to have in my bridal party and was excited to get them involved from the beginning.  I sent them flowers to their offices with a note telling them how much they mean to me and asking them to be my bridesmaid.  It was so fun getting their acceptance calls that day!
