Honeymoom x2

FI decided we HAVE to go on a honeymoon right after the wedding. He found out yesterday that his cousin, one of the BMS, and her family are planning on leaving for Cuba the day after the wedding and that we should go to. It would be amazing, we haven`t been away since last April, but for 4 people to travel twice in a few months AND with a wedding, I`m not sure how that going to pan out.

I wish money wasn`t an object of concern.

We have a similarish issue.  FI's parents are going on a carribean cruise for a friend of the family in July and suggested we go.  Because its for a wedding it would be way cheeper then a normal cruise...but I think ew would have just gotten back from our HM and I don't want the cruise with his parents to be our HM!

He wants to honeymoon with his family?

Maybe you could convince him to hold off to save money so you could have a romantic trip by yourselves?

We aren't having a real honeymoom, I don't think we should vacation without our kids,  so he's calling any vacation next year our honeymoon.

Why?? I can't think of a better excuse for a romantic getaway. I have a son and FI has three from his first marriage - I imagine this is the ONLY vacation we'll ever have alone!!

But if this is how you want to do it, go for it. Sounds like you're worried about money though? It might be better to wait.

FI is a teacher, so we have to wait until three weeks after the wedding when summer break starts to go on ours.

Trust me, I know I sound crazy.

I would love to vacation without them, but it's just not at all possible. Especially if we are going with others who will bring their children.

Money is partly an issue. My parents are supposed to be contributing but we haven't had the chance to get together and hear what they plan on doing, so until then, I'm hesitant.

  • I hate that it seems like money is always the issue...

I'm a teacher as well, so we're also waiting until the summer. I'm hoping that'll give us enough time to get some money together...but, since we're paying for a majority of the wedding on our own, we may have to wait a little longer...
