So I sent an email last week to my DJ about some stuff I would like to see for the Grand March. I put together my own .wav file of a mesh of songs I want for it that is fun and upbeat. I also wrote up the names that went to each song for the introduction and wrote out what I'd like said. I told them they could say what they want, but keep the gist of what I imagined.
So the DJ's wife called (Not the DJ himself) me and it sounded like she was defensive/crying.
"We assure you, we're professionals, we know what we are doing!"
"I don't know if you think we can't handle your wedding!"
"Let me tell you why we went into the business..."
Then she went into a long, tear-filled story despite my assurances that I just wanted to give some details and that I, indeed, trusted them.
Really? Is it just me, or is it extremely UNPROFESSIONAL to call your client in such a manner? Or was my wording not right in the email? Direct copy of email:
Hiya,
Quick note and info for our wedding on May 19th --
I attached a document (DJ.docx) explaining what I'd like to see roughly on what I'd like said. Obviously, I'm not forcing the exact wording, just something along those lines. Jason and I love the idea of our grand entrance/march to have a little bit of a twist. I made up a .wav file of the songs put together how we'd like it for you and I attached it with the document. We'd like it to start off nice with Apocalyptica - Nothing Else Matters (violin) to introduce the parents and then start GrandMarch.wav. Then it cuts to Indiana Jones, then Ice Ice Baby, then Shaft, then Can't Touch This, then the Austin Powers theme.
For the wedding party dance, we'd like our bridesmaids and groomsmen to dance together to Winds of Change - The Scorpions.
Please let me know if this is okay!
Holly
