Hi Ladies,
I've been around for a while after being in 4 weddings in 4 years, but now I'm finally here to post for my own!
I'm from Pittsburgh and been here all my life except going away to college in NY. My boyfriend is a US Marine and just returned from a 7 month deployment to Afghanistan. He is stationed in California. While we're not techinally engaged yet, I know it's coming soon. We've been planning on getting married for over a year now, but the deployment pushed that off. Now that's he's home safe and sound, we're starting to lay the ground work to get engaged and planning. As of now, the Carnegie Museum Hall of Sculptures is at the top of our list for the end of this year or early 2013.
And for my first question...November 24th, 2012 is open at the Hall of Sculptures. That's the Saturday after Thanksgiving. All except about 20 of our guests are in Pittsburgh or within a 5 hour drive. Those other 20 are mliitary and will have a long weekend for the holiday to travel - which is mainly why I think this weekend would work the best. So they could spend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with their families (they are all from the East coast and live within driving distance when "home") then travel to Pittsburgh Friday night or Saturday for the wedding then head home Sunday. What do you ladies think about that? I just don't want people to feel like we're infringing on their family time.
