My grandfather (the only one I have left) has severe Alzheimer's and he keeps insisting that he does not want to come to our wedding. My aunt and my Dad keep trying to tell him that I am his grandchild and the first to get married and that he should come....but this disease is really confusing him and he doesn't want to come.
We even thought of asking one of his nurses (he lives at home but has nurses come by the house 3 times a day) to come with him just for dinner and then drive him home, but we're not sure how he'll be when he's there...he might be fine, or he'll be asking to leave and go home right away if he gets too confused about where he is.
I don't want to say "let him stay home" because he's my only grandfather and I love him, I'd love to have pictures taken with him.....but I don't know if he's well enough to come
just had to share this...its really eating away at me...
