Making Progress!

After almost pulling my hair out...and his...I think we have decided on the colors. I feel so relieved. We are going with Tangerine, Malibu, Guava, and Sunbeam.
We have a location for the Ceremony and Reception, Caterer and Cake Maker, Photographer, I've already called the place where we are renting the chairs and tables from. I have already looked at the fabric we are using to decorate the chairs. I work with a lady who does flower arrangements and she has agreed to help with those. We have our wedding party figured out.
I think now its all little stuff to figure out. I think lol.

Oh. If the guys wear orange with black suits, should the girls wear orange dresses? or would it look bad if they wore a different color than the guys? I don't want it to look like a rainbow.

Re: Making Progress!

  • Will the orange dresses look good on all the girls?

  • I have no idea. We all go to different colleges/schools so its extremely hard to catch everybody inbetween classes and they all want something different and the other two work all the time so its hard.
    Communication is def a issue.

    MOH has red hair
    BM1 has red hair
    BM2 has red hair
    BM3 has brown hair
    BM4 has gray/white hair (she's in her 40's)
All the girls except for the one are under the age of 25.

Does the color effect their figure? Because I thought the style of the dress would do that.
  • I dont see any problem with the girls wearing orange dresses, if the guys are going to be wearing the color too, even if they are wearing black suits. I wouldnt go putting your girls in Malibu colored dresses though, since the guys will not have the color on at all.

For an outdoor summer wedding, which I am having also, I really didnt want my entire bridal party in black, but thats up to you. Its ok for the guys, but let the girls wear some color!

  • oh no! i would never let the girls wear black! lol
I thought about doin the orange dresses with pink and yellow flowers and then have a blue ribbon tied around the stems of the flowers.
would that be too much color though?

  • Just from your list of colors, it sounds like you want a bright, colorful wedding. If that's correct, go for it. If not, maybe reconsider how many bright colors you're planning on using. I love the idea of all those colors for a summer wedding, especially outdoors. You might need to try the combo to see if you think it's too much.

    Here's what I would do:
Run to the store and get some fake flowers that are close to the colors you want. Grab a roll of blue ribbon, and make your own bouquet to use for testing out the combos. Take it with you when you look for BM dresses and have the girls hold it so you can find out if you like it or not. You won't know for sure unless you really try it.

  • We do want a bright wedding lol. Thank you so much for your help. I never thought of making a tester set of flowers. Thanks!
  • We are having the vests of our groomsmen be a different color then the bridesmaid dresses.  We are tying them together with flowers though, so in my opinion as long as there is a connection you should be fine with dressing them in different colors.
