Hi Knot-ies! I was hoping someone out here might be able to either;
A) Tell me what the original of
this dress might be so I can consider buying the designer
-or-

Suggest any similar desses for about $1,000-1,500
I'm in love with this dress! But, for what I think are obvious reasons, I'm nervous to buy a $400 dress from China. So now what? I found a local designer that said she could make the dress for $1,400 (I could also have the cost reduced by switching out some fabric if I choose). If the original is somewhere around $1,500, I would absolutley order that. I know this is my dress! I just need to figure out how to get it . . .
Re: Wedding Dress Bee . . . Anyone know the original?
I'd go for a local vendor or at least a well known online with great reviews.
[QUOTE]I would not order from them. There are horror stories here galore. PLEASE don't set yourself up for disappointment. Brides think they're ordering the dress picutred on the site, but end up with a half-ashed sack of fabric that doesn't resemble the original, then the company is unreachable and the Bride is SOL. I'd go for a local vendor or at least a well known online with great reviews.

I think you're right! I just searched "Wedding Dress Bee" on the message boards. Again, I can't say I've read a specific instance where the dress turned our wrong (I did read one girl who experienced a shipping delay, but didn't comment on the quality), but TONS of hesitation . . . I think I'd rather not the be guinea pig that orders her wedding dress here.

That being said, one of my bridesmaids sister had her wedding dress made and hated it. She didn't print a single picture. That doesn't really sway me (the nature of my design occupation and being an amateur seamstress, I feel I can better articulate what I want and understand the design + fabrication process), but it does make me think twice for a second.

Honestly, all of the knockoff sites are the same, pretty much. And many of them, by different names, are actually the same company. Even their websites look almost identical.
There are lots of real horror stories about knockoff sites. Read the FAQ at the top of this board and you'll see some links to some of the horror stories.

[QUOTE]Assuming you won't take a chance on a knock-off, there are several gowns out there that resemble that one. It makes me think of a White by Vera Wang dress at DB. Here's the link: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Tulle-and-Organza-Fit-and-Flare-Gown-VW351166_Bridal-Gowns-Shop-By-Designer-White-by-Vera-Wang The problem is that the dress is about $1500 without getting a floral belt. However, I also found a number of other similar styles that were at or under $1000: http://www.allurebridals.com/products/2550 http://www.allurebridals.com/products/2612 http://watters.com/Product/WtooBrides/17536/ http://www.morilee.com/Bridals/blu/5104 http://www.casablancabridal.com/collections/view/32/497#.UXmOa4y9KSM Hope this helps.

Thanks! Those are some great suggestions! I've actually stopped to gander at that Davids Bridal dress before. I especially love the second allure gown. I'm beginning to wonder if this wedding dress bee gown isn't a copy. Not that that makes me want to buy it, I just don't think I'm going to find the same dress under another designer . . .

This thread is over a year old and this person's first ever post (member since November 2013) is essentially a positive review of a knockoff site? It seem suspicious to me. I'm sorry if it's a legit experience, but you have to admit it's a little shady.
Plus, zombie thread.

But, in spite of that... Why am I so driven to find it? A voice calls to me... It says, 'Search for Paradise.' " - Kiba, Wolf's Rain
