Photographer issue

Ok so I picked a photo that was in my budget but the original one that I wanted was too high. When I brought the 1st choice to the mister he said he was not going to pay that much.. So I went with the next choice NOW mr. pictures is not that deep is like why didn't you go with the original choice... So now I don't know what to do because I already paid a deposit... Should I eat the deposit and go with the original or what

  • I say go with which one is going to give you the best pictures. You cant recreate the day.  I found my photographer on craigslist. Now her work is good but as a safe guard I have two friends that have been doing photographer for a while to also take pictures with their high powered cameras and I have a videographer.  So even though I went with a cheaper photographer instead of the high end ones I feel confident about her because I have seen her work and have read reviews about her but have safeguards in place just in case. Keep in mind even an expert photog can mees up your pictures. I say all of that to say, go with your heart and be comfortable about the decision that you made instead of worrying.

  • I agree. I say go with the best product.. You do not want to be madd when you get your pictures back and they haven't captured the moment.. You know that saying.. you get what you pay for.. and if you do not loooovvvveee the work then don't settle...I had a big photo issue as well.. Although i didn't pay a deposit i went with the photos that was most appealing to us and the style that we were going for.

  • I picked budget over photographer...I would never recommend that for another bride. As part of setting your budget, you should investigate how much the best photographers (one's whose work you like) usually cost and factor that figure into your budget. I did it the other way round, I set a photography budget and went for the photographer that was in that price range. Knowing me though I probably would not do it any differently, I am all about the numbers. So you have to know what will make you happy at the end of the day, saving money or having excellent magazine quality photos. At the end of the day my photos weren't horrible but I do look at other bride's photos with a bit of envy:-) Again, knowing me and how money conscious I was, if the deposit was a large sum and I couldn't re coup any of it, then I would probably roll with the punches and coach that photographer to ensure all the shots I want would be taken care of. You have to do what works for you.

  • thanks for all of your help ladies.. me and the Mr. talked it out and really took the time to look at both photogs and decided that we ae going to have the deposit used for a photobooth since the deposit was non refundable and we went with the first choice.. so thats more money but i think everyone is happy and at ease..
and mr is happy because this photog will not make him look big... (even though he is a big boy..lol)
    thanks
