[QUOTE]I do agree with PPs that the reaction given in OP was a bit extreme... but for what it's worth, I thought the $99.54 check was pretty funny. :P

Yeah, for the most part I really just thought I was being clever (it only happens ever so often).

I've found the additional discussion very informative though. Hopefully others have gotten something out of it as well.
  • Ill admit I had a few I purposely did NOT put stamps on bc I know the ppl well enough.... Well enough to know they were going to just give them to FI at work anyways (his coworkers are like family to us and they've been together for 10+ yrs). 1 wrote on the back of the card.... How'd you know my plan? And I just started laughing
  • I received an RSVP back with a different stamp and realized that I had neglected to put a stamp on one *out of 100 rsvp cards. I was mortified and emailed the guest apologizing and saying that I must have missed that one. She said she figured it was an oversight because she would never expect me to not stamp my envelopes.

  • I think a stamp should be put on every single RSVP card. I wouldnt send one back without it. People dont always have stamps lying around. I work 7 days a week so its virtually impossible for me to get to the post office. Why should I be hassled to leave work early or spend my lunch break waiting on line for stamps? Just be courteous and put it on for your guests. It will save a lot of people a lot of aggravation.

  • I'm just throwing this out there: They sell stamps at CVS.

    And online.
  • When stuffing invitation envelopes, my mom and I forgot to put stamps on a handful of RSVPs.  We noticed when some came back with different stamps, and we were mortified.  I think it's tacky not to include stamps... I made sure to apologize to each of my guests who had to provide their own postage... I'm still cringing at the thought!
