Invitation Help!

Hi Ladies,

I bought some DIY invitations from Michaels a while back and they came w/ the actual invite and the response card and envelopes.  I didn't even think of it at the time but there aren't those little cards in there for the reception info, etc.  The paper isn't flat...its more textured and its discontinued so now I'm afraid I won't be able to find paper to match...would that look awful if it didnt? Also, I took it to a printer and they said b/c of the texture some of the letters might "drop off" and not print.  Grrr....now I am getting close and need to figure out if I need to start all over or if I can make these work.  Any suggestions?  And where did everyone get their invites?  Thanks!!!

If you are just looking for a place to put the reception location, you could have it at the very bottom of the invitation.  Say reception immediately following at the Country Club 333 Main Street Pgh PA.  I think this might be against ettiquette, but if it is, its not the most egregious ettiquette breach.

If you are looking for even more information, I would set up a website.  You could have the web address at the bottom of the invitation or the response card.  If you wanted, you could still put the reception info at the bottom of the invitation.  Orrr, since you are probably just asking for an RSVP for the reception (unless you need to know how many seats in advance) you could have the reception information on the response card.

If you don't like any of those ideas, I'm sure you could go to paper stores and find similar paper, but I think you could get away with not doing that.

I bought mine at Michaels and they had a texture to them, and I printed them without any problems on my own printer at home.  I am not sure why the printer thinks he will have a problem.  I might check out another print company, or try it on your own printer or on a friend's that has a nice printer.  My invite itself had enough room to put the reception information on there....so that's what I did.

I did the same thing as PP, I printed them from our home printer, and had no problem with the texture. And we put the ceremony and reception info all on the one invite. I know it is probably against ettiquette, but we didnt have anyone say anything. Plus, then your guest only need to keep track of one peice of paper versus multiple papers.

You could always get something in a different color, like one of your other wedding colors, so that not matching the exact shade/texture of the paper wouldn't matter.  Also, you could try putting your wedding website on the back of a Moo card with your picture on it.  http://us.moo.com/en/?gclid=CPW3wLng5aoCFYmK4AodRinu6g

Great ideas ladies, thank you!  I am going to try to do one at home and see how it turns out and I love the idea about a coordinating color for the cards.  Anyone know where I can get the cards or should I just use cardstock?
