We found the perfect venue for our day in June 2014, but we are having a difficult time picking colors. The venue is the Kenilworth Club in the Chicago suburbs. Built by George Maher in 1907 there is a historic feel to the building complete with stained glass windows. However, the walls are a dark mustard yellow, with forest green trim and a dark wood celing. I really want the colors we pick to compliment the space. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Need help picking colors!
no one is going to notice if the green trim coordinates with your yellow flowers.
I would do mostly neutral decor, and maybe add in a pale buttery yellow to lighten it up a bit.
If you do want to add more color and aren't sure where to start, you could always pick a shade from the stained glass.
The yellow is beautiful but it makes a strong statement, so I would pick maybe one other color that compements the yellow but is not matchey-matchey (maybe pale blue or pink) and keep the rest neutral. They have some great color pallets elsewhere on this web page. I'm sure it will be beautiful!
