@MuppetFan, I've never even heard "bohunk" before.  Then again, I've never seen Sixteen Candles all the way thru.

  • Yeah we can but I wouldn't. I mean some of the blocked words are pretty stupid but most of them are pretty bad slurs that should be banned.
Oh I definitely wouldn't do it. I agree that the slurs should be banned and I think the swears should be allowed because we *are* all adults here.

I feel like I did when people tell me they've never seen Ghostbusters and like I did last week when a number of people told me they've never seen/heard of Joe Vs. The Volcano.

@AddieL73 and @MuppetFan, I'm sorry!  I'm horrible with seeing movies.  And I'm not that young (24).  Trust me, I frustrate my FI all the time with the lack of movies I've seen.  Does it help that one of my all time faves is the Breakfast Club?  I've seen most of Sixteen Candles, just not all of it.  I thoroughly depressed my FI when he found out I had never seen Ferris Bueller.  Don't worry, he fixed that already.

I'm the same way, I just don't watch movies! It's not that I don't like them, though.

@MuppetFan, I have seen Ghostbusters and Sixteen Candles, but I have no idea what Joe vs. The Volcano is.

So, now that we've sufficiently derailed this thread, here's another detour:

There's a badge for being a moderator now.  It doesn't really seem to serve a purpose though.  Anyone know if there's a way to display it without changing our profile pics?  It makes it so much easier to see how the mods is if they have a badge beneath the name, but we seem to have lost that.

Well, you're young enough not to have missed the 80s for the most part so, I will forgive you. Yes, it does help that you love the Breakfast Club. You should finish 16 Candles, and then, I will give you 10 more points if you know this one

The mod banner thing has been brought up to the KGs and they said they'll be bringing it back in the next set of changes that are rolled out. It's in one of the threads on the Mod board.

Punky Brewster is the shiz man.

I totally learned a lot about the 80's from VH1's "I love the 80's".  So much time spent watching that show.

Also, I apparently have a very bad memory. FI just reminded me that I have seen Sixteen Candles.  Apparently we rented it from Netflix early in our dating history, back before we even lived together.  Oops.  I can't remember watching the movie at all.  I'm ashamed of myself now.  FI's just shaking his head at me and laughing.

I bestow upon you - POINTS BY ASSOCIATION! chaching.

I lived in the town that was filmed =) American Graffiti was filmed there too.

I think you are cool for studying up on the 80s. Good for you!

I know Blossom but I didn't like it so I didn't watchit. Punky Brewster ....on the other hand.... yes, yes, yes. My friend's 4 year old wears mismatched outfits because her grandmother told her she looked like Punky one day. She doesn't know punky, but she likes her style.

This movie came out when I was like three.  However, I saw it on VHS in the 90's at some point.  I kind of want those few hours of my life back.
    aw.....awww.......so sad. I detract 2 points.

Woot! I got points yo.  I'm kinda sad at times that I was born in the late 80's and didn't get to experience a lot of it.  Seems like such a cool decade.  I also freakin' love the "I love the ..." series.  So freakin' funny!

Dude, I was a kid in the 90's.  That's what I listened to. My parents listened to stuff mostly from the 60's and 70's, maybe some 80's.  So what I listened to in the 90's was stuff that kids listened to.  Although, I still live in a bit of a music bubble.  I listen mostly to country music. I do love me some classics though (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, Three Dog Night, etc) and classical (Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin).

I believe the new platform/program being used came with the no-no stuff, and that the Tech Team is working to get rid of it...there's no need take it personally.  We know you're adults, that's why TOS was changed to allow most no-no language :-)

If you're going to allow most of it then why are the words (non-slurs) most frequently used banned? Are KGs going to change the list any time soon? Hell, any mod can go and change the list if you'd like.
