Wedding Invitations & Paper

Guest book- Using butterfly wishes instead- wording?

Hello, I'm getting married June 15th and I'm just tying up lose ends.. - Not sure if this is the right board but it's to do with paper :P

We've decided instead of using a guest book which is traditional and expected we'd use little butterfly cards which people could write a small note on and then "post" into our treasure chest- which is also there for cards and small gifts.

It will all be found on the gift table and I was hoping for some help I'm really struggling to think of a way to word "Please write on the butterflies as if they were a guest book and post it in our treasure chest please."

Without it sounding so blunt lol.

Thanks in advance- Fiona

  • We did river rocks and just put a sign that said something like, "Please sign our wishing stones. These will be kept in a vase in our house, so please be a part of our home by sharing your thoughts and well wishes!" and then I made up a couple of fake ones and put them in the vase so people got the idea.

Leave the treasure chest part out. Get a vase for the butterflies.

    Then, use Addie's wording.

  • That is a really good idea and I appreciate that you've both taken the time to give me feedback, my only problem is and I forgot stupidly to mention this in the first post that the butterflies will be stuck down in a sort of scrap book after the wedding- I'd effectively be lying if I used Addies wording.

  • You could tweak it to mention the scrapbook and say "be a part of our story" or something. The important part is that you not worry about being blunt. Guests just need to know what they are supposed to do, so don't overthink coming up with how to word the directions.
