Bean dip? Besides a tasty treat what is this?

So twice today I have seen the term "bean dip" used as a verb. I have never heard this before and have no idea what it means! Can anyone enlighten me? Where does it originate? I feel like it should be from New England but I can't explain why I assume that. For some reason I picture this when I hear it. I can't explain that either:

I have never heard this. Is it kind of like 'And then I found a 5 dollar bill.'??

Oh my God. One of friends ends every. Single. Story. With, "And then I found five dollars." It is most definitely a thing, and totally not up to the usefulness of bean-dipping in casual conversation.

It's more like to end a story that you realize is very lame when you tell it. Like an apology if you will.

I use "and then I found $5" periodically and it's not at all like bean dipping. Bean dipping is just changing the subject to anything else.

I use bean dipping on here, but unless I was at an actual party with snacks I'm pretty sure everyone would look at me like I was coco puffs if I said that in passing.
