Re: Let's talk themes.

  • @Harry87 - We really haven't decided on a specific set of colors. I'm thinking Navy dresses for the ladies but that's as far as we've gotten. @lingerlonger1 - Agree :) One of the sweetest things about our venue is we get to select three beers to add to the bar and they serve a local brewery on tap!

I don't really have a "theme" but the overall direction is vintage glam with splashes of art deco. I'm keeping my colors classic with ivory/cream, metallics (silver and gold), and a touch of black. I'm hoping to incorporate the vintage part through the bridal party's attire and welcome table decor, and art deco through the stationary and colors.

Yet with our food, I really like the idea of comfort food like mac and cheese, corn bread, pie for dessert, (not only is is cheaper to cater) but it's less stuffy than the normal boring wedding food.
  • After creating several pinteresy boards with themes I'm not doing one. Our cultures coming together is enough for our vow exchange. I'm Mexican he is gypsy. You will see the influences in our attire and the decor. It won't be obvious but subtle.

Our theme  is southwest rustic but that's really just because of the style of our venue.  It's an old adobe, santa fe style fort in the  foothills,  We're both from New Mexico, met there originally and spent a year driving between here and Santa Fe  last year before FI moved up.  It was very important to us to bring in that huge part of our history together.  We almost went back to Taos for the wedding, but decided it was too much hassle and this place is as Taos/Santa Fe as you can get without actually going there.
