No plus 1 for Bridesmaid for OOT wedding

Re: No plus 1 for Bridesmaid for OOT wedding

  • Ahhhh so when you said OOT you really meant Destination. I assumed it was like an hour drive away.

I think it's INCREDIBLY obnoxious of this bride to demand a destination bachelorette in addition to the destination wedding. If I were in the WP I'd be saying sorry honey, we're going to Atlantic City (or somewhere else in driving distance) because we can't afford TWO trips for your wedding.
  • I think it would have been nice for her to however...
I think it is better for you to not take a plus one. You will be busy being a bridesmaid, leaving your cousin to fend for themself. You might not even be seated together at the reception. In the past when I was single I did not take a date to a wedding unless I was in a serious relationship, especially if i was in the wedding. But that's just MHO =)
For our wedding, we did not list and guest. We wrote their significant other's name on the invitation. If someone asked to bring a guest we allowed it.

After the ceremony and pictures the bridesmaids don't really have anything else they need to be doing... Not sure how busy she'd be. And if she's not seated with her guest (aka if the bride puts the WP at a head table and separates them from their dates) that's rude on the bride's part.

But based on everything else OP has told us about bride and her expectations, I think the point is moot. The bride sounds like the wedding has turned a bit self-absorbed and isn't caring much for her BMs' comfort at this point. Hopefully it will pass.
