MGM Skyline Terrace Suite

Hi All,

I am booked for the Mandalay Bay Chapel and H suite for an in suite reception for April 2014. I just saw pics of the MGM Skyline Terrace Suite and I am in love. I am considering changing to the MGM however there are no reviews on here for the MGM suite. Does anyone know if you can pull off an in suite reception at MGM. I am thinking of having both the ceremony and the in suite reception there. So I would need to get an officiant, catering, drinks, etc. Any information would be helpful...THANKS!!!!

I have one of the terrace suites reserved as a secondary options.   on little vegas wedding blog there is a recent post about a small wedding they had there.  I watched a few videos on youtube to try to get a feel for the room.   From what someone said on here a few weeks ago....25 poeple would be max for the room.  Unless you want everyone outside the entire time, then i'm sure you can fit in more people.   The balcony is huge, but the inside is a weird layout that doesn't have a whole lot of open floor space...so it could get tight.
  • Have you seen any reviews where brides had issues with bring in outside catering????

I haven't heard of any issues.  i've been speaking with someone from Master Cuisine.   She told me that in their 5 years of catering, they never had an issue.  She said they did get turned down once at MGM on new years eve (didn't say what room), but they still snuck back in and delivered the food.

  • I'm just worried that if there is security by the lifts, how they will get the food & drink up???
I really want my reception at the skyline terrace suite, but feel scared to take the risk.

Email Tiffani @ tifani@masterpiececuisine.com.   she has answered tons of questions from me.     remember...these hotels always have so many things going on they will never even know if they work for mgm or not.  i don't believe there is a guard at those elevators.   You can check with littlevegaswedding.com  She did a wedding at that suite a few weeks ago.  i'm sure you may be able to get some answers to ease your concerns

  • Thank you so much I'll email her.
  • I contacted Scott at Masterpiece and he said he absolutely does not recommend the MGM for an in suite reception. He stated it is difficult to bring in outside catering. I don't really understand why it is so difficult but I don't want to take the risk. I am in love with Skyline Terrace and I really do not want to do Mandalay Bay anymore. I am thinking to have the ceremony at the Skyline Terrace, head to Maggiano's for dinner, and come back to the Skyline Terrace for drinks. This whole thing is giving me a super headache!!! All suggestions are welcome....PLEASE HELP!!!!!
  • I fell in love with the skyline too. But changed cos I was told the same thing by masterpiece. People do it and get away with it all the time. How about dinner somewhere closer than maggianos ie within mgm... wolfgang pucks perhaps?
