timeline help!

i am trying to put together a timeline that will fit my photographer's time frame. how long should i allow for a buffet dinner for 180 people? i am planning on having my photographer for 6 hours, from 1-7.

1:00 meet at the
church
2:00 ceremony starts
2:30/2:45 ceremony ends
2:30 family pictures
3:00 leave for off-site pictures
4:00 arrive at reception

after that, i am not sure how to plan out the night (for dances, dinner, cake cutting, etc)

I would ask your caterer how long s/he thinks it'll take 180 people to get through a buffet. For that large of a wedding, I'd have at least 2 buffet stations to make it go quicker. If you can do 2 - 2 sided stations, you'll get people through very quickly. Or if the caterer is planning to have people staffing the buffet that moves things along as well. Depending on that conversation with the caterer, I'd plan on at least 45 min-1 hr for dinner.

    I'd do it like this:

    1:30 meet at the church
    2:00 ceremony
2:30/2:45 ceremony ends & family photos
    - - - - 2:30/2:45 - 4:00 guests go to cocktail hour - - - -
3:00 leave for off site photos
4:00 B&G and WP arrive at reception
4:30/5:00 dinner (early, but I wouldn't make your guests wait any longer than this)
    - - - - use dinner to visit tables if you aren't doing a receiving line - - - -
    5:30/5:45 dinner ends
    5:45 cake cutting
    6:15/6:30 first dances
    6:30/6:45 dance floor opens up
    - - - - photographer takes photos of dance floor and people socializing - - - -
    7:30 photographer leaves
