  • Your ceremony is late enough that you could have a dessert reception.
  • Your ceremony is late enough that you could have a dessert reception.

This is one of those times that a local norm may play into the decision. 8 PM in NYC is much different than 8 PM in my quiet Eastern CT town.

    Could you do stations?
  • How many out of town guests do you have?

  • Stantons sounds like fun give guest more choices! Thanks

    True.  Didn't think about that.
  • Are you serving a full meal?

  • When you say meal, do you mean an actual sit down dinner? For a sit down dinner, or even buffet, options are provided by the reception caterer.

If the wedding starts at 8, then assuming the reception follows and 8-9pm (while dinner time for some) might just be late enough to justify not having an actual meal. Is that the type of food options you are looking for?

That's not really an answer...I guess I just need more info =)

3 full meals?  You should quote so we know who you're replying to.
  • I think, since you're changing the day to a Friday at the relative last minute, you should provide a meal.

You can continue to serve the same meal. Maybe I just don't understand the question.

It's one day earlier, now on a day that likely most of your guests will be working.  You're the one inconveniencing them by changing your plans, so I think you should provide a meal - which is fine, since you're planning on doing so anyway.  That is my opinion.

No you do but I could change the meals if need but I was orginially having a 2PM wedding.

    Thank you

  • Steak, chicken, pasta? Maybe I'm missing something, but I'd just ask the caterer what they usually serve, and then do that.
  • A full meal at 8 PM would be fine. That's when I usually eat on week nights. Serve whatever you'd like.
  • You're having a full sit down meal?  I would have already eaten by 8 pm...  I think a dessert reception would be nice.

Yes I had that planned when the wedding was at 2PM I could always change it. Thanks

Chicken and Brisket Mac N cheese and Beans

  • ...

I don't understand. Do you know what food you're serving already? If you're serving Chicken and Brisket with Mac N Cheese and Buns, why are you asking what would be good? What does your caterer offer?

This is where I am.  I get that you're asking what to serve, but you already have a plan for what to serve.
  • I am confused.

If you have a plan to serve the chicken and brisket and mac and cheese then great serve that.  I think when it comes to a Friday wedding having a full meal served at around 8pm is completely fine because most people would have worked that day and most likely would not be getting home until 6pm and then normally eating around 7pm.
