Re: Weekend updates!

  • Check your coupons, too! Usually you can pick up a 40% off on the website (they're my favorite craft store, I shamelessly plug Joann's at every possible opportunity).
  • @BriSox81 I was watching the Pats game and all I said at 30 seconds to go was "Who's writing this?" Best commentary on the Thompkins TD I heard today was probably taken from the NE local broadcast, in which I'm pretty sure I distinctly heard: "Unicorns! Show ponies! Where's the beef?"

Hello ladies!  Weekend was good here.  Did a little work and poor H had to work for most of the weekend.

Saturday I met up with  @buggle2, @suzie211 and @loves2shop4shoes.  We had wine, noms, talked a ton, and I'm really, really glad we got a chance to become friends in real life.

Sunday was just a relaxing day (for me, that is...H was working).  Back to work for me now...it is kicking my ass today.

Saturday was amazeballs.  I heart IRL.  We will be doing this again.

Sunday I was super lazy and never made it for marathon watching.  Oops.  I did watch an insane amount of bad tv though.  I loved every second of it.  H was out of town for work, so I didn't have to watch football.  My team had the day off:)

I have a serious case of the Mondays and would like this day to be over.  Plus H gets home tonight and I'm literally making him get naked when he walks in the door.  So the faster this day ends, the faster this lady gets sexy time!

    This did, in fact, happen.

  • EXHAUSTING weekend. Missed you ladies.

Friday, I woke up to a message from my partner, who was at work, saying that he was very suddenly very sick (headache, dizziness, sore throat). I went to work and got a lot done, and stopped by CVS and Fenway on my way home. Picked some some cold medicine and cough drops for the sickie, wrapper paper and a card, and a 2013 AL East pennant for my future father-in-law. By Friday night, my partner was much sicker, so we drugged him up and got him in bed.

Saturday, we got up early to go to the in-laws' house. We set up my partner in the TV room with some blankets and tea, and then my future sister-in-law and I helped my future father-in-law paint the house. I didn't see the work he was doing up on the scaffolding, but sister-in-law did a whole bunch of the garage door, and I painted shutters (way more time consuming than you'd think!). She and I talked wedding most of the time, which was very helpful and enjoyable. We stayed the whole day and celebrated father-in-law's birthday, which was on Sunday. Sister-in-law took my partner home after dessert, and I stayed to watch the Sox. Painful :(

Yesterday, we drove up to a wedding! I'll start a new thread about it, but it was fun. It was a very New England wedding--the DJ made Patriots related announcements early on in the night, and by the end of the night, a lot of people were following the Sox games on their phones. When we got back to the hotel, I installed the very sick fiance in the bed, and stayed up to watch the rest of the game.

I MAY have woken him up several times. The first time was when I got all excited about having the bases loaded, and got all, "What if Papi hits a slam?!!" and then it happened. So that was killer.

We drove home this morning and did a big grocery store run. He's just as sick today--I'm pretty sure it's the flu. Sadly, we're both back to work tomorrow, and you can bet he'll insist on going.

  • @phira oh gosh I hope your partner feels better soon!! I've got the beginnings of a scratchy throat today so I'm vitamin C and fluids for today. And resting and maybe going to bed early. I got home early today so I'm gonna shower and veg and eat dinner then bed won't be far off (or at least cross stitching or reading - that's close to sleeping!!)

@boston people, I'm a Yankees and colts fan soooo I'm basically not your friend 99.9% of games, but both your games were awesome yesterday. And unicorns! Show ponies! Where's the beef? Totally made me laugh today. So thanks for the link. Is it weird that I, a Yankees fan, and fi, an Os fan, are tired of Detroit and want the sox to take it? It seems so weird to cheer for you guys!!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • @Blueandwhite @bethsmiles I am dying for Allegiant!  I preordered as well, I'm very interested to see where this goes!

This weekend was nice and semi-relaxing... Shaw's for oysters on Friday with an old coworker, and then a whole lot of nothing (besides marathon-sign-making) on Saturday, which was WONDERFUL.  Pajamas, being lazy, and bed early - best feeling every.

Sunday was the marathon where I went nuts cheering on my friend.  The sign I made had lights all over it, it was awesome :)  She was already in so much pain not long after, but she did great (and obviously did something I can never do!)

And this week is going to be nuts - I can't even begin.  I don't think I am going to be home one night this week before bedtime.  Yuck.

  • My weekend was mostly uneventful.

Saturday was spent lazing about the house for a few hours while BF went and did whatever he does outside the house.  Then we went to Target for a few things we needed.  I forgot to get running shorts so now I have to go back this week.  I have my first 5k (The Color Run) on Saturday and I have no running shorts.  I'm already nervous and this makes me more nervous.

Sunday was spent toodling around on the internet until I had to go to work.  Work was interesting to say the least.  It was busy.  I asked one girl if she wanted something to eat with her drink and she says, "Paulina".  It sort of set the standards for customers the rest of the night.  A homeless guy that is banned from the store snuck in and my supervisor allowed him to use the restroom because he was "polite" and whatnot.  I proceeded to go into the bathroom to clean it a couple minutes later because I was on my bus run and I turned around and walked right back out.  He had pissed on the floor and it SMELLED.  It took all my self-control not to walk outside to where I had seen him last and yell at him to never ever come back into our store.  I still feel like I didn't use enough bleach to clean the bathroom.

I rented Iron Man 3 when I got home and proceeded to sprawl on the couch and admire Robert Downey Jr for a couple hours.

  • @blue&white The way I see it, you're a baseball fan, so that's acceptable in my book. I have a bunch of friends who are Yankees fans, and it's always fun to talk baseball together. My college boyfriend was a White Sox fan and was SUCH an asshole about it >:(
