Not to knock Moe's in case anyone on here genuinely likes it, but I've only been there once and it was on a date. This guy I had seen once before said "I want to take you to a cool Mexican place" and then proceeded to lead me to Moe's Southwest Grill in PENN STATION. BTW, I was wearing a sparkly top and heels. He was a nice guy, but there was zero chemistry and bringing me out to eat in Penn Station was pretty much the final straw. Memories like that make me ridiculously happy not to be single in NYC anymore....

@bubbles053009 - do you have any authentic taco trucks around town?  ours are usually located in the Hispanic quarter of the city.  they are FABULOUS and very, very cheap.

Tomorrow is my friend's birthday/Halloween party. It's a little early, but her birthday was October 1st and her son really wanted a Halloween party, so this is the compromise.

This weekend, Bean has a poop ton of projects to work on. One is a 6 page research paper on John Deere (the actual man); finish reading Enders Game, prepare a book talk for that, then prepare a 3 page paper on Hunger Games: Mockingjay as well as a visual presentation (poster, mobile, etc); last is a SS project where he has to choose a region of North America and create a postcard with slogan, landscape details, and other interesting facts.

So I'll be all like: 

 

This IB program is no fucking joke, y'all. I'm scared. It might take up my whole entire weekend.

 

 

Right now, my coworker is standing at my desk going on and on about some stuff she's been through lately. I was kinda ambushed in the middle of typing this post, and I really don't know how to react, so I'm all like:

Can't get out of the box: I've done the same "oh I'm sick" thing. The last guy I dated before my current BF, he told me he was making me a nice Italian meal. He ended up making Hamburger Helper. I was like "well, I have a meeting tomorrow, bye!" Then sent him off to the island of lost/unwanted men.

My weekend will be hopefully good. Tonight, we're going to relax and maybe tidy up the apartment. My partner has been sick with the flu basically all week, so the apartment is a mess. Good lord, has he been sick this week.

Saturday, we might be going to dinner at his parents' house. I hope so because we do not have TV at all, and I'd like to watch the Sox game. If we don't win, I'mma be all

On the other hand, if they win, I'mma be all:

Sunday, we're heading up to a friend's apartment. She made "too many" apple cider donuts, so we have to "help out." We'll watch the Pats game while we're there, and if there's a game 7 of the ALCS, we'll stay late to watch. I really hope there isn't because I'm not sure my blood pressure can handle one.

@phira - I'm kind of cheating with the cake. I bought a spice cake box mix from the store. Instead of the listed ingredients I'm adding a can of pumpkin puree, 3 eggs and about half the oil called for. And pumpkin pie spice (nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon). I plan to bake it in 2 8inch (or 9 inch. . I forget what I own) round pans and put the praline mix between the layers. The praline cream filling I found online and I've never made it before. . . I hope it works out. Here is the recipe I'm going to follow LINK Our wedding cake was so yummy and we had the frozen leftovers last year, but I wanted to make some for this anniversary too. I'll let you know how it turns out

Tonight, I desperately need to catch up on my DVR. Hart of Dixie, Agents of SHIELD, Survivor, Top Chef, American Horror Story, The Crazy Ones, and Scandal are waiting for me. (Yes, I watch a lot of TV -- and that's just part of the week.)

Tomorrow morning, my aunt's picking me up in the morning and we're driving up to URI to visit my cousin. My other cousin is meeting us there and we're all staying overnight. There will be alcohol involved. I'm totally going to pretend I'm college-age again. 

I'll be at the Eagles bar in Hoboken on Sunday. Go Birds!

Have fun at URI! That's where I went to undergrad. It's a party school for sure. I lived in a house down the line...that's what living off campus is called-"down the line". 

This weekend I plan on going car shopping. I went last weekend and had very little luck due to the amount of people at the dealerships. There are a lot of sales going on right now, hopefully I can get a SUV for a reasonable price. I HAVE to be prepared for when it snows.

I also plan to make a target trip (ooooh exciting lol) if time allows for that. Other than that, I would love to just sleep in, eat take-out and watch TV. I feel like if I went out for night this weekend I would probably get a cold, and I don't have time for that.

I couldn't resist.

BF and I are carving pumpkins this weekend. It's a two day event for us and I'm super excited! Two days of carving pumpkins and watching Halloween movies!!

@Swazzle - I watch a lot of TV too! I more binge watch TV though, I'm too impatient to wait a week between episodes so I have marathons once they are released on Netflix. Right now I'm watching season 8 of Bones.

UGH BONES why can't you be as awesome as you were before season 5 ....

We watch a lot of TV, too. We basically each made a list of TV series we had seen and liked and wanted the other person to watch. We're alternating now between Supernatural (my show) and Dead Like Me (his show).

Tonight I spend the night at home with the BF.

Tomorrow morning I run/walk my first 5k (Color Run).  I'm super excited even thought my friends bailed on me and I'll be doing it by myself.  I'm so out of shape after being sick for so long that I'm not going to enjoy myself very much tomorrow.  

Tomorrow night I go to a coworker's house with a bunch of other coworkers.  We're having a small get together to remember a coworker/friend who committed suicide yesterday morning.  We're all in shock and hurting so we decided it's best to all hang out together in our grief than to sit at home and mourn alone.

Sunday is my resting day, except for I work till midnight Sunday night.  I am not looking forward to that.

@500days - My cousin is a senior here, he's the president of his frat which I don't know the name of. His house is also "down the line". I'm not sure where I am exactly (we just got here). He's taking me to see the campus and stuff in a bit and then party tonight. Should be a fun time!

@swazzle- president of a frat? guaranteed fun time. report back if you see some crazy halloween costumes. And I'm sure there will be lots of hype due to the sox game. In 2004 when it was sox vs. yankees that campus was bananas...cars and dumpsters on fire every night. Have a blast this weekend! I hope the recovery process isn't too bad either lol
