Tell me about your weekend

Re: Tell me about your weekend

  • @buddysmom80 we also have a wegmans convert in the house! Read on...

Friday, I observed in a high school the whole day. Holy moly that was not like my high school experience. I have 32 more hours or so so it'll definitely be a learning experience. Then I went home to get fi and drove to the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania for my best friends wedding! We got in at 11 or so and crashed at our hotel.

Saturday, woke up super early, had breakfast and went to get ready. Did my own hair and had my makeup done. My hair came out awesome so I was very proud! I carbo loaded while getting ready because we didnt get lunch...the wedding itself went off without a hitch although it was freezing and raining during photos. Brr!! Reception was a lot of fun but being exhausted and sick with a cold is a bad combo for a reception.

Yesterday we went to the brunch after the wedding and then drove home. We again hit a ton of traffic. Around lunchtime we stopped at an exit that said it had a McDonald's and fi was pissed cause it was 2 miles away. I saw a wegmans and was like "wait we can stop there!" He was mad from traffic and all snippy like "uh it's a grocery store. I need something I can eat and drive duh". Somehow though he listened to me. And after we loaded up with wegmans subs, he admitted that yes yes, I was right. Wegmans is not just a grocery store lol.

We went to bed at like 8 pm and missed the colts game (the colts beat Peyton?!?!) it'll be a busy week with fi's interview but we have nothing planned next weekend which sounds amazing
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • WEGMANS IS THE BEST THING EVAAARRRR!!!!!
  •

@KeptInStitches I made a crocheted granny square blanket too! I crocheted using two balls of yarn at the same time so it's extra extra thick and toasty warm. BF and I used it all last winter as a middle layer between our sheet and our comforter. Best blanket ever! Damn thing took me I don't even know how much yarn and hours and hours of work.

@lmhollister, cool! I didn't know you crocheted - what yarn did you use, and what color? I used Red Heart Economy in French Country with a border in Delft Blue, then a sc/picot edging in French Country.
  • @KeptInStitches I only do the most basic patterns and most of the time I get halfway through a project or spend a year working on something because I don't do it consistently. For instance, I spent most of a winter working on the giant granny square. By the time I was done it was spring. :) Some friends taught me to crochet in college so I stumble through as best I can with what limited knowledge I have.

I think I used Red Heart in this hmmm...multi color that was mostly brown with bits of deep red, blue and green and the other yarn was also Red Heart in a cream color. It blended together really prettily. I did not do a border because I was lazy.

  • Oh god I am so tired.

Friday night, my best friend got online, SUPER EXCITED, which is weird because she hates her job. Turns out that she had a GREAT day at work, and had been asked to fill in for a senior doctor at another clinic on Saturday. Basically, instead of having to work her typical day at her current clinic, she got to go to another clinic, work a shorter day, AND make a TON of money (she made as much in one day as I usually make in a week). The best part, though? The clinic was a 10 minute walk from my apartment!

So Saturday, she came up after her shift ended, and we hung out and watched a Harry Potter movie. Then my future in-laws called us up and asked if we wanted to come to their house to watch the Sox game (we don't have our TV hooked up, so we don't even get FOX). So we went down around 7pm. WICKED fun night, although baseball has never been this stressful.

    Anyway, SOX SOX SOX YAY

Sunday, I got up and baked cookies, and then we went up to hang out with a group of my friends. One of them made apple cider donuts. Best ever.

I didn't get any work done, which is pretty bad. I was supposed to come in and do some tissue culture on Saturday or Sunday, but I'm just so damn tired. After class today, I'm going to have to get a ton of tissue culture done before I can head home.

  • @lmhollister, I pound through the knitting and/or crocheting, then get hung up on working the ends in because I hate anything that even remotely smacks of sewing. I think I did the work on the big granny square ... in March?
  • I spent the entire day at work on Saturday for an experiment to fail.  When I came home, DH got takeout and we exchanged anniversary gifts early and watched a movie.  Yesterday, I cried while watching the Ravens lose to the Steelers, drank a lot of beer, and ate leftovers.  I'm thrilling, really I am.
  • All I did was study, but I watched Walking Dead on Sunday night.
I need to learn to be concise like this, lol, since that's my life. I feel ya, @peaseblossom55! Hang in there!

@lennonkdc, the engagement pics are adorable! You guys are awesome!

  • I worked on Friday and then went for a quick boat ride in the afternoon.

Saturday morning I did my first 5k.  I had so much fun doing The Color Run, but I wish I had someone to do it with.  I'm looking forward to my next one in a couple week and then another in February. That night my coworkers and I all met at one of their houses for a celebration of life for our coworker who just passed away.

I closed at work last night and that was about it.

I've realized that I don't live an exciting life.
