I have NEVER belittled someone. Please quote where I have.

Being only in print one can interpret any avenues of "kindness" or lack of all they want.

I also have not been unkind. I simply don't coddle or add anything except the mere needed answer to the question.

I will most defintely speak more assertively if I am accused of judging or something else that is untrue, as I have in this thread. I will react, as anyone, when I am patronized or something.

agape - Seriously, I'm trying to help you here. Plenty of ladies feel that your posts are unkind. I'm not saying you are intending to be flat out MEAN. When you speak so bluntly, without emotion, it comes off condescending. If you want to blame it on people misinterpreting your tone via the internet, that's fine. But, if time after time, this keeps on happening - why not just put in the tiny extra effort to speak with a smile? I give everyone the benefit of the doubt - when I read your direct/factual responses I personally KNOW you are trying to help and NOT trying to demean (well, most of the time). Others, who do not know you and your background are TURNED OFF.

And I completely agree that you should be assertive when you are accused of judging someone, being patronized etc.... but my point is that people think you are being judgmental BECAUSE of your internet "tone". You will save yourself a lot of false accusations if you proactively attempt to phrase your assistance in a happier, more helpful way. Why are you opposed to even making the effort to come across more helpful and caring?

People need to hear the truth, but they need to hear your love too. God didn't just hand us a manual of theology. He gave us his Son. He didn't just lecture. He healed, listened, made people laugh, he loved, and ultimately he poured out his blood for us. God is a Person, not just a thought to which we must agree. So we should be full persons too. I don't think there is much more I can offer - but I hope you are willing to  reflect on this because I feel your knowledge is invaluable to this board, but it's honestly not helping anyone when you've turned them off with your tone.

I haven't been posting in this thread for a while because I was hoping that the thread would die (I really regret starting the thread, honestly, because I hate seeing people fight), but I just wanted to say that Riss, you're awesome.  And I agree with you 100%.

agape, doesn't your name mean charity?  Loving god for his own sake and loving all others for His sake?
