  • There are definitely places around Burnsville; come on over to the MSP board and the girls there are super helpful!

  • I just went to a wedding where the bride wanted to get married at her childhood church, and the reception venue they found was about an hour away. They provided a charter bus (don't know if it is in your budget, but no harm in finding out!) from the hotel everyone was staying at, to the ceremony, then back to the hotel (which was next to the reception hall). It gave the guests a nice little ride to get to know each other, tell stories of the bride and groom, and mingle. No one minded it. Maybe a possibility for you?

  • I agree with some of the other eastern people.  I too commute 1 1/4 hours each way to work, so my real concern here was, when I heard ski lodge, I went into panic mode.  It's not a horrendous distance if that's just driving time, but if there is any possibility of the roads being icy, I wouldn't go to my own wedding in conditions like that.  God may get me for that comment as my wedding is Dec. 4, but I just KNOW it will be a perfectly lovely day - no black ice or other ugly conditions.
