I figured since we've talked about Christmas already, we might as well talk about Halloween (it is closer.) Anyone do anything fun? Dress up? Nothing at all?
I'm ashamed to say FI and I turn into teenagers for Halloween meaning we dress up (usually coordinate even) and go to bars/hang out with our friends (who also dress up) Anyways, it's a blast. I never did anything until I met him but he lurves Halloween.
If I wasn't so embarrassingly dressed up whore-ish I would post a pic of us last year. :P This year we're thinking Mad Hatter and a sexy Alice/Queen of Hearts. Told ya...ha!
So what do ya'll do or not do?
Re: Halloween
But my DH is a huge Halloween fan, we have a guillotine and a coffin in the basement. We just cant do anything where we live, no kids at all. And we don't usually go anywhere, or dress up.
He does put a skeleton in his passenger seat though........her name is Rosie!
It is true that pit bulls grab and hold on. But what they most
often grab and refuse to let go of is your heart
I hand out candy to the neighborhood kids. i love to see all their adorable costumes!
Looks like laffy taffy, runts, sweet tarts, nerds, bottlecaps, Fun Dips, and some gummy savers this year

I really want to do this now. Where does one get a skeleton for this purpose?
We usually dress the dogs up, watch silly halloween movies (because I hate actually scary movies) and throw candy at children. Sometimes we'll have friends over. I haven't dressed up in a few years, I'm not very creative.
At my university, Halloween was the biggest holiday of the year. People started planning their Halloween costumes in the spring. Entire sections of the town were blocked off for the party. It was crazy.
I went as Elphaba/Wicked Witch last year, and I think I went as a witch the year before.
Oh, and? They do Beggars Night here like the Thursday before Halloween (always a school night) for only 2 hours. So, we can do both.
Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

I'm sad that you didn't mention going to haunted houses, that's the best part of Halloween. I love to go and have the crap scared out of me

Halloween is literally 6 days before our wedding this year, so while we'll be in MA, I don't know if we're going to actually dress up. I'm sure he'd like to, but we might just head down to Salem to see the festivities.

Oh he's had her for years. I mean it when I say we have enough stuff to start our own Halloween store. The coffin is storage for all of it.
He and his ex lived in a neighborhood where they put on pretty much a show so big the police had to come direct traffic. He still has his werewolve costume.
If we ever move to a place less rural we would doing it again.
Rosie is hanging in the garage right now. He's thinking of strapping her to his motorcycle.
[QUOTE]We're going to a wedding on the 30th, so our typical halloween party night will be taken up by that instead. It's all good, though - they're a fun couple and we like them a lot.

I actually really wanted to do a Halloween/Goth wedding. I think they are so fun/unique and FI seriously plans for Halloween all year long. He loved the idea. But the fam. wasn't so hot on it and their helping pay so eh. :P

Now you have to show is you!
[QUOTE]Not sure what we'll dress up as this year. It's usually a last minute decision. He was some random tequila shot guy last year and I was the Bermuda Triangle. (Most people thought I was the food guide pyramid...sigh).

Oh god. I seriously look like a 2-bit hooker. They dubbed me "head groupie" for a reason, LOL. The only reason I did it is because I knew we would be around close friends all night and we had a blast...
ETA: My hair looked pretty awesome though!
I always said that if I could have won one of those ridiculous contests where you win $150,000 for your dream wedding, that's the kind of stuff I'd spend my money on. I can't think of enough opulence to spend that on for a regular wedding, but a halloween wedding...yeah, I could go over budget on that one.

I freakin' love Halloween! Almost as much as Christmas, or maybe even more? hmm...
J will dress up if I pick something for him. He hates it otherwise. Last year I was Alex from A Clockwork Orange and he was The Todd from Scrubs. Here's a pic:

I used this recipe: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/spooky-witches-fingers/Detail.aspx
They are a bitch to make and I doubt I'll do it again, but they turned out great.
Last year we went as Mario and Peach.
I need couple ideas for this year.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
[QUOTE]I like halloween! We go to a house party every year. This year we'll actually get trick or treater's too, since we're in a real live neighbour hood, with people! (last 2 years we lived behind a bar). Last year we went as Mario and Peach. I need couple ideas for this year.
