Re: WPBP of the day

  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?DH always hides chocolate eggs easter morning.
Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?I just did actually. Bret Michaels was in my dream....eek!
Favorite kind of cake?Hmm, red velvet, vanilla, chocolate...they all sound good
Spelling mistake you can't stand: I hate on here how girls cannot write aisle. They have to write isle, which is definitely NOT something in a church. I'm also not a fan when someone misspells any word that is already a title of a board on here, like etiquette. I misspell a couple of words though, so I am also bad ju ju!

  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? Not this year.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? When I was a teenager, I had a dream that I was marrying Harrison Ford.

Favorite kind of cake? Red Velvet, or Marble.

Spelling mistake you can't stand: "Loose" for "lose".  It drives me batty.

  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?  Not this year!

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?  I think I must have...

    Favorite kind of cake?  Chocolate!!

Spelling mistake you can't stand:   Your vs. You're.  I'm also not a fan of accept in place of except...and a lot is TWO WORDS.
  • Easter Egg Hunt? Yes, I hid eggs for my 2 year old cousin and helped him find them.

Dream about a famous person? Yes but not in a weird way. Matthew McChonugah (sp???)

Favorite Cake? Marble with buttercream icing of any kind.

Spelling mistakes? Ditto banana. A lot and Your and you're...Stina - i bet you have hated on me before. I've used isle a few times and I ALWAYS forget to use the spell check on here.
    Anniversary
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? No

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? I don't think so

Favorite kind of cake? Anything with buttercream frosting usually, but orange poppyseed cake with orange buttercream frosting is really good.

Spelling mistake you can't stand: loose/lose.  It seemed to be an epidemic for a few months.

Did you participate in an egg hunt? No, not this year. But I did eat hard boiled eggs for breakfast!

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? Uhh, this is really embarrassing. I recently had a dream that it was the zombie apocalypse, me and my friends were total goners until Michael Douglas showed up with a tank.

Favorite kind of cake? Gluten free anything :)

Spelling mistake you can't stand: "alot", the your v you're, and the they're v. there v. their. I am a horrible spelled, which I why I love the spell check.
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? No,but my sister and I did one for our family friends two little boys!

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? The coach from Mighty Ducks.. Emilio Estevez is his name I think? haha I used to watch that movie so much when I was little.

Favorite kind of cake? Red velvet with cheesecake frosting yumm.

Spelling mistake you can't stand: you're spelled your or anything like that.
    Anniversary
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? No! My cute idea of hiding chocolate eggs for DH fell through when I never actually got the eggs. Oops.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? Yes, but I can't remember any specific dreams/people now. Xoxo, your dream cracked me up!

Favorite kind of cake? Right now it's Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake. Soooo good http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/06/the_best_chocol/

Spelling mistake you can't stand: WR: fiancee when it's a boy. Rediculous. Your/you're. I am kind of a spelling nazi, actually.
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?
Yes, at bootcamp Friday morning. They turned it into a cardio activity.
Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?
    Probably, but I don't remember.
    Favorite kind of cake?
    The kind someone else makes.

    Spelling mistake you can't stand:
I can't stand grammar mistakes, like your/you're, and their, there, and they're. Also, we walk down an aisle.. its not an isle unless there is a moat around it. And you worship at an altar, not an alter. Alter is what you do to your dress.

Nope.  I didn't participate in anything yesterday.  I was too busy playing with my iPad :)

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?
    Not that I can remember.

    Favorite kind of cake?
    Chocolate.

    Spelling mistake you can't stand:
A Lot.  It's not alot people!  Even the spellcheck on here has it underlined in red.  Check before you post!

That's so funny, Emily; I call myself the Grammar Nazi!
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?  Yes! My first in probably 20 years :). My fiance got me an Easter Basket filled with baby stuff (we are TTC) & then hid eggs all throughout the yard - each filled w/ sweet & funny nothings <3. Was so fun.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? I dreamt I was doing naughty things with Carmen Electra, actually.... that was a very weird dream.

Favorite kind of cake?  Rich dark chocolate with butter cream icing, yum!

Spelling mistake you can't stand:  More of a grammar mistake, I think; when someone uses an apostrophe to indicate a plural. "I got all my invitation's printed last night" - makes me shudder.  Where's my red pen!?
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?  I hid the eggs for nephews and niece (well technically FI's, but I totally consider them mine.)  Does that count? :)

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?  Yes.  When I was 13 I had the hugest crush on David Boreanaz from Buffy/Angel and I had the best dream about him.

    Favorite kind of cake?  Tiramisu!

Spelling mistake you can't stand:  All of them?  I'm kind of ridiculous about it.  Everything everyone here has mentioned, especially the lose/loose thing (OMG I see it everywhere and it drives me batty!) and pretty much all of the homonyms that people can't keep straight.  It's NOT that hard!

Xoxob, do you eat gluten-free because you have to?  FI can only eat gluten-free.  It means a lot of Dairy Queen cakes.  (My second favourite kind of cake.)

  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? I didn't, but my FMIL hid eggs for my daughter and my FI's cousin...it was cute :)
Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? Oh, plenty of times...had a pretty naughty dream about Bobby Flay when I was pregnant with my daughter...
Favorite kind of cake? Red Velvet...but I like Lemon and Banana too...
Spelling mistake you can't stand: anything my MOH types...her spelling is horrendous! She spells diaper "dipper", leaves words out of sentences...she's lucky I can understand what she writes haha...
Also not fond of the "they're, their, there" and "your, you're" mistakes...

  • For all the people complaining about loose/lose:

There is someone who gives English classes in Santiago who has flyers up in my neighborhood. These flyers talk about how English gives you all sorts of advantages and instructs people not to "loose out" on this opportunity to learn. And you wonder why Chileans don't have the best English.
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?  Not for several years.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person?  I can't think of any right now...

Favorite kind of cake?  Chocolate, hands down.

Spelling mistake you can't stand:  their, they're, and there is a big one, but pretty much any easily corrected word that is misspelled drives me buggy.  Spell check, people!!

Wow, I have boring answers today :-)

It's true...it's a sad, breadless life for me. :( JK. There are so many options out there now. It just makes my dietary life more complicated. Thankfully, in NYC there are so many gluten free restaurants and bakeries, if I am ever craving something, it's not that far away.
  • BTW, xoxob, my photog friend that is coming to visit...well, her DH can't eat gluten either. So in the event that he comes too, you need to give me some restaurant recs.

[QUOTE]  I also know it is slightly regional, but when a U is inserted in a word like favoUrite, coloUr.

<div>I literally thought you don't like it when people write it that way; the U's capitalized like that in the middle of the word. Another word that has a U in it that can go either way that's on this site a lot is "honor" and "honour."</div>

Did you participate in an egg hunt? No, We were traveling all day back from our honeymoon in Aruba.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? Yes, Ryan Reynolds, I love him.

Favorite kind of cake? Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting from Wolter's Bakery in Williamsville, NY.

Spelling mistake you can't stand: It's not actually spelling but it drives me insane when people say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less".

  • Did you participate in an egg hunt? Nope, I haven't since I was dating my ex-boyfriend & his family used to hide eggs around the house for us.  I know a lot of face painters who paint at them, but without church connections, I haven't been hired for one yet.

Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? Not that I remember, but I only remember nightmares.

    Favorite kind of cake? Coconut.

Spelling mistake you can't stand:  The mixing up of their, they're, there.
  • Did you participate in an egg hunt?  No, but FI's stepmom did one for his stepbrother's stepdaughter (that's a lot of steps, I know).  There were a couple of kids doing one in the courtyard outside our apartment yesterday, which was weird.
Have you ever dreamed about a famous person? I'm sure I have, but nothing comes to mind.
Favorite kind of cake? Chocolate!  Especially when it has a beer buttercream.  Mmmm...
Spelling mistake you can't stand: The plural apostrophes drive me batty.
I tend to spell words the British way rather than the American way.  I read a lot of British authors, and it's sort of rubbed off on me.  Either that, or I just really am that pretentious.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • My dad's British, so yes, I can confirm that it's just how the vast majority of the English-speaking world spells things. If someone told you it was regional, they were either wrong or live in a little British enclave somewhere tucked inside the US.

I don't use the "u", but I spell it grey and think words like travelling and cancelling look better with two "l"s.

[QUOTE]Pissed was an overreaction.  Annoyed would be a better word choice. But seriously, you never knew that about Canada and the UK?  I'm not trying to offend here, but I'm kind of shocked at the ignorance.

Thank you for calling me ignorant because I was never taught this in school.

Stina, I was pointing out the U in the words, not saying some people capitalize them.

  • You didn't learn it through school or life and so you're ignorant of it.  Ignorance means that you don't know something.  You can be offended, but it's a factual statement, not an insult.
