Just when you think it'll fizzle out that girl said one of the most thoughtlessly cruel things I've ever read. Then she ran away and shitt got depressing.

  • Usually I eat a turkey sandwich and some soup or raw veggies for lunch but today I had last night's leftovers.

You guys should all make these meatballs and gravy - I command you:

for meatballs - Combine 1.5ish lbs ground beef, one finely chopped onion, 1/2 dry Italian bread crumbs, 1/2 grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup milk, and one lightly beaten egg.  Roll into balls and bake at 35 for 35-40 minutes or so on lightly greased pan (so they dont stick)

for gravy - One can beef consomme, one can chicken mushroom soup, and 1/2 cup sour cream.  Combine in a saucepan on the stove until hot and pour over meatballs.

AWESOME with mashed potatoes.  Go make it now.

AATB, your meatball recipe is almost the same as mine except I throw in some garlic too, but that gravy sounds TASTY and I have some mushroom soup in my pantry I need to use anyway!
    Lizzie
  • AATB, that sounds like my meatball stroganoff.  i love it.  except i use greek yogurt instead of sour cream and ground turkey instead of beef!  i also like it with egg noodles and lots of mushrooms.  YUM!

Uh. I am like 5 and I enjoy mac and cheese.

  • aragx - my mom has been making these meatballs for like, years, and everyone RAVES.  I am pretty much a garlic whore (if a recipe calls for chopped clove, I'll chop like... four) so I think the next time I make these I will be adding garlic.

The gravy is TO DIE.  The consomme makes it so salty, hehe :)

I do the exact same thing. Thank god FI loves garlic as much as me. When we're cooking at home a lot I'll easily go through a head or two of garlic per week.

  • Hello everyone.  I'm over here boiling in frustration over a student of mine who has been a major slacker lately.  I emalied her parents out of concern yesterday for her progress.  Her dad emailed me yesterday afternoon all pissy that she stopped by yesterday during lunch to see me and I wasn't there.  No dude, sorry, I was having lunch with my grandma and other family that are in town right now.  I told him I'd plan to be in my room the entire lunch hour today to speak with her and help her, and he said she'd be there.  She never showed.  I had a bunch of errands to run and whanot, but I pushed them off because my students are more important than my errands obviously.  It just makes me so mad that he had the nerve to get mad at me for not being in my room DURING MY LUNCH HOUR and then she doesn't even show up when I put my plans on hold for her.

TGIF. I need the weekend so badly.
  • Hi!  I'm cooking some french fries in the oven and warming up a burger for lunch.  Another beautiful day here.  I need to take the pooch for a walk later.

My favorite thing to eat for lunch is a turkey hoagie, which is what I had today, so all is well with the world.

The twins are playing in their playpen and should go down for a nap very shortly, so that's cool.

I think I'll go read that thread, I love when Eagles tells people to eat a bag of diicks.

  • I'm a lousy lunch eater.  Today I had a cup of yogurt and a vending machine cupcake.

Yesterday I forgot to eat lunch completely.

My favorite lunch is anything my H makes and gives to me to eat.

  • Buckley is back and the only thing she commented on was the post about Abbey complaining about her CW. So far.

  • Buckley is a dipshit.

MUN I could never forget to eat lunch, I would legit pass out.  But my husband does this all the time.  Like sometimes he won't be all that hungry when dinner is ready because he forgot to eat lunch and didn't do it until like 2pm, and other times, he is FAMISHED when he gets home because he forgot it all together.  I'm always like thefuck, guy?  How do you forget to eat?  lol.
    panther
  • Yeah, I'm the same way AATB. I normally can't skip my "second breakfast" of chips at 9am either.
  • Yeah, I work fairly short days at my work (6 hours) so I eat a late breakfast...then I'm not hungry at normal lunch time, so then all of a sudden it's time to go home, so I might as well wait for dinner...
  • I forget to eat all the time. I guess it's not really that I forget so much as I'm not really hungry. If I were hungry, my stomach would surely remind me it was time to eat. I don't eat normal meals though, I generally snack throughout the day. My eating habits are awful, I need to get on fixing that.

  • You guys are making me hungry.
  • I get irrationally annoyed when Ben asks whats for dinner.  I mean, he loves my cooking, so he's obviously just curious and excited about it.  But I always feel like HEY.  DON'T WORRY.  I'M COOKING.
    panther
  • Yeah AATB, you should definitely try it!!  I sub greek  yogurt for sour cream now.  Healthier.  And mushrooms and beef consomme, soup, stock, etc are like a match made in heaven.

  • This thread is making me hungrier than I am. Since I've been sick all week I didn't devise a meal plan for this week. Which basically means we have jack sh*t in the pantry.
  • H is the cook in our house.  But for some reason, I can't just say "what are you making for dinner?' Because that's like I expect it. (which i do...) I always say "So, did you have any thoughts about dinner? I could make (insert frozen skillet thing served over pasta)"  Which he invariably rejects and says what he had planned to cook in the first place.
