• A car!

I've had the same car since I was 16 and its treated me well considering I've had it so long. But it's becoming a real pain in the ass now.
I actually have no idea what I would put in it. Probably craft stuff, supplies, candles, nicknacks, things like that.

Nebb, I always wanted to cut the drawer fronts off, with the molding, and face bigger drawers with them. So that four small drawers = one big drawer, using the tracks from the bottom two drawers. Then you could put whatever you wanted in it! :)

I also need to add to my list of One thing. :) I am paying my car off in the next 1-1.5 years, and then I want to buy a Volvo C30 R-Design with 6sp. manual transmission. It's my new obsession.

I am actually a fan of lots of little drawers, I feel it wont get as cluttered that way. Everthing would have its own individual space and stay organized.
• Gotcha, Nebb. I wanted to use mine as a pantry of sorts, with drawers to hold pots, flour, utensils, etc. I really want to go back to that store to see if they still have the one I found. Come down and go with me! :) It won't fit in my modern house plan anymore, so it's all yours if we find it!
I just want a kitchen with high ceilings, high cupboards and lots of jars and containers everywhere with a million little treasures. I have a thing about containers, I love containers, or bowls or vases. I love things. I have boxes of ceramic things tucked away in our storage unit, with nowhere to put them :(
Posted by Nebb
We have high ceilings, but hardly any cupboards or cabinets and it sucks. The whole design of the kitchen is stupid. Instead of cabinets below the counter, we have  deep drawers that fit maybe 3 pots, and an L-shaped cabinet that is impossible to get into.

Once we move, I am making sure our house has a kitchen that actually makes sense.

<div>I just did this with a piece I found! We ended up making them filing drawers so that the labels on the outside actually corresponded to groups of files on the inside. It was A LOT more work than I anticipated and we had to replace the slides on the bottom because a few of the little ones were not strong enough to hold the larger file drawers. I love it though. I cried when I had to put it in my client's house, haha. </div>

• I'd love to have a library. Especially one that is full of leather bound books and smells of rich mahogany.

My Fi's aunt is manager of our local literacy association.
They get books donated all the time.
She has been collecting old books for me for two years.  last year I got an old copy of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, I also got a a 1950's edition of Uncle Tom's Cabin.
They are so amazing. This year I got a book about mathematics, and a book about using coloring crayons the math is from the 30's and the crayons is 1906.
I absolutely love books, and could sit in a used book store for days looking at every one.

My dad lives on a lake, but not in a huge, awesome house like that! His house is about 1200 square feet (if that - maybe 1,000) and only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. But he and his girlfriend live there by themselves. (My dad also works from home.) And he has a boat and a patio right outside the front of the house that borders the water. 50 feet of water front. He LOVES it. The property was actually in my mom's family for almost 80 years, so my dad is willing it to me and my brother.
You are dying to own. Bonus points if you have a pic. I WOULD LOVE one of those old library card catalogue chests.

I want one of these as well......what I really want to buy someday is my parent's awesome house.  I'll take over my dad's office which has cathedral ceilings and is never used and turn it into a huge library with ladders on wheels.  I'd rather have that than any TVs in the house (FI would pitch a fit though).

I'm also hoping to buy an ipad in the next month or two.  I'm using the excuse that its for school.
• I bought the house we have now for the kitchen (pictured below decorated for Halloween)........but in the next house I want it significantly bigger.  The space between the island and fridge is too tight and I often get sandwhiched in their with FI and the dogs.....

• apro, how much space is between the surfaces? H and I are currently designing our kitchen, which will have an island. I'm trying to figure out the ideal space between the benches/fridge etc and the island.

I love designing.....It's a little bit short of 4 feet.  Its just that we have the silver ware drawer right across from the fridge.  I'm trying to find a picture where you can see the fridge and counter better...

You'll all probably bust my chops but this picture is from when the kitchen was decorated for Christmas.  We like throwing parties.

The distance between the fridge and counter would be perfect with like one more foot between them.
