    Southeastern Wisconsin (not sure yet if we're going to get lucky to have the wedding in one of our favorite places, the capitol of Madison, or if we're going to have a more intimate wedding closer to where we live now, near Waukesha or Milwaukee) Also, since technically Wisconsin is not yet marriage but only domestic partnership, we're going to Iowa the week before our actually commitment ceremony and reception in Wisconsin to get legally married.

    Hi everyone! My name is Christine, my partner is Jennifer. We are planning our wedding for 10/01/11 at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. We have not had anyone say anything negative (yet!) about our same sex marriage. so far everyone has been very nice. We hope it continues! I am 40 and she is 32. We live in Walkertown, NC. We plan to be accessing these boards frequently and hope to read some helpful hints out there. We are a little overwhelmed with everything there is to do! We have our venue, florist, caterer, officiant, and musician picked out. we are attending a big wedding show in the OBX this weekend and are hoping for lots of ideas and to finalize the other vendors! Nice to meet everyone here! Congrats to you all!

    Hello! I am Rebecca, my wife's name is Christen and we are both 28. We live in northern Michigan and got married over the summer. It was lovely and intimate and perfect for us... she's my everything. 

    I'm new on this board... I thought I would join and add my two cents to the forums. I have always loved weddings and always waited for my own anxiously... lol. Now that I have my dream wedding behind me, I feel that I can offer some input and advice on the whole planning experience.

    Diana, We live right outside Winston Salem in Walkertown and are getting married on 10/01/11 as well! It is such a small world on these boards sometimes! We are getting married at th Outer Banks. Are you getting married here? Let me know if you have any questions or need help. I have lived in the area for over 25 years. I am sure it is hard to plan a wedding where you aren't familiar with the area. Good luck with everything! Christine

    We're two months away from our wedding day and I still haven't told my grandmother that we're getting married. I was previously married to a man, and I'm nervous about how she's going to take the news -- even though she's given her blessing to our relationship.
