Vendors dinner

This might be a silly questuon but I'm just wondering how it works for the vendors when it comes to dinner. Of course we are providing them with a meal, but do they sit down too? Where and when do they eat? We're having a very intimate wedding of about 25-27 people in a lodge up north. Then there's the DJ, coordinator and 2 photographers. Since its so small should I add a few seats? Or do they just eat wherever and whenever they can?

    Not a silly question.  Since your wedding is intimate, I would set up a small vendor table off to the side somewhere.  I know it is truly appreciated during the course of the wedding day to be able to eat as a prior photography vendor who may be with the couple for 8+ hours.

    Have you talked with the lodge about what they usually do to accomodate vendors? Generally, you set up a small table for them. Some halls provide the meal free to the vendors, and some include it in your bill. They may also feed the vendors before the start of your reception.

    I know at our hall, the dj just sets up his system to play the dinner music. He eats with the rest of the vendors at the same time we eat. However, I've been to weddings where the vendors ate prior to the start of the reception. Whatever works best for them is usually the way to go, they've all done tons of weddings and know what is easiest.

    Our vendors sat amongst our guests; they said they preferred that, so we sat them at tables with guests we thought they'd get along with. Will this work for your set-up? Not sure how you are doing tables.

    If you don't want to do that, you could have a separate vendors' table and seat all the vendors together. But whatever you do, I do think it is nice to give them a place to sit down and eat a quick meal.

    We are planning to have 1 or 2 long tables. I think we'll just make space for them at the tables with the friends. They're all so nice and i don't doubt they would get along. Should I checked with the photographers at least?before we confirm seating....
