Meh. Doesn't matter if it did, I guess.

I wouldn't leave a PhD program personally, as far as I know, but FI is willing to move so I can do one. It would be hypocritical to say I wouldn't move for him. And I don't think I could comment on anyone else's specific scenario, either.

But I remember something from a while ago about their relationship not being accepting and having to be sort of on the down-low, and today is totally clicked as to why. I am smart.

What?  Neither my FI nor I have credit card debt.  I have no idea who or whose FI you're talking about.

And yes, the fact that Rach can be open with their relationship is a pro of them moving, and for the last time, she has said her program isn't that great.  Understand it.  And I'll add that she is a very strong woman who needs nobody "running to her defense" -- she has explained it herself directly and confidently.  Any "running" is simply thwarting the BSC.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: FFF : Yes, but you JUST basically called someone stupid for not believing in GW.  Sure, say the girl made an uneducated statement IYO about the WEATHER, but to insult her entire education was not necessary.  I'd love to see data that 100% proves that GW is a real phenomeon. I'd be will to change my mind. Nope, I have not spent 10 years looking at weather so I am uneducated on the subject so it would be great to a have real data that says yay or nay to GW.   It's okay to want to take care of the planet. Heck, I buy cloth bags because wild aminals eat and choke plastic ones. But, I think there is a lot of false information being feed to the public.

No, I didn't call someone stupid for not believing in global warming. I called them stupid for saying it was a hoax. It's frustrating for me to see this issue devolve in to an accusation that the people I work with are lying--that's why I said in the beginning of the statement that my feelings are a reflection on me as well as her.

Weather & climate are two different things, but that's not super important, I just wanted to point that out b/c folks confuse the two a lot of the time.

There's not data that 100% supports the theory of global warming. When all of the data is put together though, there's a fairly reasonable certainty ( />95%) that it's happening and it's man-made, and there's a decent chance (~30%) that it's going to be majorly fuucked up, like putting parts of the US underwater. These odds are constantly changing as new research comes out. There are hundreds of scientists who understand the issue well and support this hypothesis; there are a few dozen very vocal scientists in the field who disagree.

If the East Anglia thing you link to turns out to be an issue with falsifying information (it's not clear yet whether it is), the percentages may change slightly, but not a ton. There are one or two papers in contention out of hundreds that have been published.
