I think this is something you should put on the back burner until you are actually engaged. You may find that when you get to actually implementing all your ideas that you like something else.

Edit: Your BF may also have some ideas for what he wants for the wedding too which may differ from your vision

He's your boyfriend. Call him that. I hope you don't introduce him to people as your future fiance. That's just weird.

Also, have you had the same boyfriend since middle school? If so, cool, I guess. If not, maybe you should try and include him in your wedding plans AFTER you get engaged. After all, the wedding is about the marriage between the BOTH of you, not about the party.

Another thing, who gives a crap if your weddings are similar. Unless your weddings are back to back on the same weekend and EXACTLY identical, nobody is even going to notice. I think you're both BSC for even thinking that this matters.

I think that you are jumping the gun a bit. Neither you or your friend are engaged yet. Once one or both of you are actually engaged you will both be dealing with your respective FI's and compromising with them for what they envision for their day as well. You guys may end up with completely different plans once this happens.

On another note... I'm assuming that you and your friend have talked weddings and this is how you know what she likes, right? If this is the case you probably already told her what you like as well... I wouldn't be worried about her thinking you woudl be copying her. Also, a good friend and any mature adult should be flattered by someone doing something that they have done, not upset by it.

2) You are seriously jumping the gun here. You need to wait until you are actually engaged to worry about wedding planning. Once you are actually engaged, you need to plan the wedding that you and your fiance want to have, together. Anyone that thinks their wedding is completely and totally 100% original is dreaming - someone has probably done what you're doing elsewhere, and frankly, it doesn't matter if they have. You and your fiance will decide together what the two of you want.

After you are actually engaged.

You're not engaged. When your boyfriend proposes (and then becomes your fiance) you two need to sit down and discuss what you want to do. This should have nothing to do with your friend. This will be your wedding. Not hers.

OP, it's obvious you gals are perfect candidates for a double wedding. You can go dress shopping together and pick the same one!! Wouldn't it be awesome to surprise your FFs with the wedding?
