  • Snippy, I got my Master's online, but as it was in educational administration, I don't think I can be much help.
  • Mica, are y'all close enough to get some kind of seabreeze? I miss seabreezes. The air is so stagnant here. Drives me bonkers.

[QUOTE]I didn't know Texas folks did Crawfish boils. The more you know. I would probably kill for a legit crawfish boil right now.  Fezz - you are insanely close to single digits.  Mica - You can't go back until I say you can go back.

    Ew, that's awkward.<div>
</div><div>And I think you're the first person from New Orleans (or LA) I've ever spoken to who actually says "Nawlins" lol</div>
  • Okay...I guess I'll shower now. Going to work stinky doesn't seem like a good idea. Even though I'd love to skip out on work again today...BOOO. Y'all have a wonderful day.
  • Lizzie, do you put mushrooms and artichokes in your crawfish boil? Best one I ever went to in the 6 years I lived in the GNO area had both. The artichokes were almost hot enough to peel paint off of your walls, but MAN were they good.

What's funnier, is that LC posted a rant on FB last night about people from Louisianna not actually ever saying that! HAHAH!!

I will look into Penn State. Thanks Stlrz!
  • Yep. Wants the GMAT.
  • Awww!  Congratulations, Aunt Beanie!

  • Sorry Bay :(

I just got into work about 30 minutes ago, and the whole time there has been this high pitched squealing from one of the alarms on the revolving doors.  I'm not sure why they can't turn the damned thing off.  It's giving me a hell of a headache.

But, I'm wearing new shoes today, which always makes me smile.  Plus, I got a new purse yesterday, mostly due to Snippy's post yesterday.  :)

  • Morning!  I'm tired again.  Nothing new here.  I've never been to a crawfish boil, but it seems like something I'd enjoy.

I'm sorry for your loss, Bay.  Even when you think you're ready it's still hard.

Mica, you have a pool, right?  That will make the summer SO much more bearable.  In fact, I might have to come crash your pool :)

  • Congrats Aunt Beanie!  I love being in aunt.

Snippy- I had a feeling it required the GMAT.  I also think South Carolina had an online MBA program when I was looking at programs trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.
  • Congratulations Beanie!

  • One of my friends just took the GMAT.  I understand why you don't want to take it, Snippy.  He was very stressed out about it.

</div><div>I do garlic, mushrooms, potaotes and corn..we have artichokes, but not in the boil, we have them stuffed.  I could do with some artichoke hearts about now...so I'm adding them to my grocery list.</div><div>
</div><div>Sounds like your artichokes came from the first boil...the first batch that was boiled, in other words. The same water is used for subsequent boils, and by the time you get to the third boil the spices aren's as biting...more of a smoky flavor. Third boil batches are the best.</div><div>

</div><div>I don't use it often. People who aren't from there, and hear me speak are surprised that I don't soaund like I'm from there since I don't have a cajun accent. When I lived in Orlando, people thought I was from the East Coast or Charleston. There are so many different accents in New Orleans, well South Louisiana actually. Natives can tell where a person was raised by their accent, and some of these areas are right next to the other, yet the accents are distinct. They can even vary from neighborhood to neighborhood.</div><div>

  • Alright, I'm going to go downstairs and hit up the hotel buffet for breakfast.  Talk to you ladies later!

  • Good morning!  I got up and rode my horse at 6am this morning.  He was not amused to be getting a saddle on him instead of breakfast this morning, and he was all full of piss and vinegar when I was hacking in the woods and riding on the flat.  Summer is here for now and instead of 90's, I rode in the 80's and it was beautiful, and the early morning sun was up.  Perfect.

Bay - I am so sorry for your loss.  *hugs*

Beanie - Congrats on being an auntie!  That is so exciting!

  • Morning all!

Bay, I'm sorry for your loss. *hugs*

    Congratulations Aunt Beanie!

Glad you had a good anniversary Stacks!

I only got home around ten minutes before my self-appointed "I need to be home" time but I also took a nap at the apartment so it worked out. For the first time this week, I'm not exhausted.

Anyone watch Betty White's Off Their Rockers? My dad started taping it on the DVR so I watched some of it this morning. Absolutely hilarious.

  • Habs, I don't think I'd be able to get my horses to move that early.  They're lazy.

  • A - Roux is lazier after he's been lounging in the sun and gorging on grass all day.  After a night in his stall, he's right ready to go.  It was a nice change from the lazy.

  • Heh, I think mine are just lazy 24/7.  Do you guys do day turnout through the summer?  I think we might need to switch to night turnout soon.  It's starting to get pretty hot and there's not a ton of shade on our property.

  • Morning all! I had an eventful evening. My friend's submarine was on fire all night, and his wife was freaking out (quite legitimately). He finally called to tell her he was okay-- his phone was lost in the fire and he was a bit busy doing fire related stuff so he couldn't call for almost five hours. Anyway, it got me thinking about H and all the stuff that can go wrong out there. Luckily, the sub that caught on fire was in dry dock, so it wasn't as dangerous for the crew, but if that had happened out to sea.... Yikes. I'm officially freaked now, as a submariners wife.

  • Lizzie, I'm with Ski. You're killing me slowly. Habs, that sounds like the PERFECT morning. I would be late for work, but oh, it would be worth it. I haven't ridden since early February, and I REALLY miss it. Nothing like getting stepped on so my foot wouldn't go in my boot without excruciating pain to keep you out of the saddle.

    Congrats to Auntie Beanie!
