October 2012 Weddings

8 months 10-13-2012 Brides

Re: 8 months 10-13-2012 Brides

  • I'm a 10-12-12 bride and OMG time is FLYING!!! We got engaged in July, so to think that we started the countdown at 15 months and now wer're at 8 is crazy!

Big focus for the week is getting addresses together for STDs.  We placed the order for STD magnets this weekend, so I want to have all the addresses ready to go for when they get here.  I also need to finish our wedding website because the web address is on our STDs.

  • I need to get in gear. I haven't even talked to a baker or florist. And we have no officiant (that is FI's job since its his pastor)

  • Hi everyone! I just started reading this board, I'm a 10/13/12 bride too!
Our next big thing is getting addresses together for save the dates....a tedious process!

  • Addresses for STD's and going dress shopping for my mom this weekend.

  • Getting together with my sister this weekend to finalize the template for our invites, order a personalized return address stamp that we will use on the invites, make an appt to go try on BM dresses and I can try on my dress again (i havent seen it since i ordered it in August) and tomorrow night we have another appt with our priest so I want to talk appropriate church music with him so I can give a list of songs to our friend who will play the violin...

    yay for 8 months=)
  • I am a 10-13-12 bride too and I feel like I should be doing more than I am, but I'm one of those people who wants to scope out all my options before settling with one.  I have the venue booked, meeting with a DJ tomorrow, have a place in mind for the cake and florist, and I found some dresses today at a small-town Bridal store that I fell in love with!  I'm still wondering though if its too risky to have an outdoor ceremony  in October(in Nebraska).  Anyone else having an outdoor ceremony?

  • Huskerfan246: I'm not having an outdoor wedding but if I was I would make sure there is a plan B  if the weather is bad. Too much time and money is put into your big day to gamble with what the weather is going to be like. I had a friend that had an outdoor wedding with no plan B and she stressed to the point she got sick over it =( but it ended up being a beautiful day luckily.
  • 8 months....like another posted I also got engaged in July (7/1/11!) and can't believe how time has flown.

We've got our venue, cake, photographer, officiant & DJ (same person), my dress and most of the decor.  We need to work on food, invitations and I need to decide if I want any florals (my bouquet is a brooch bouquet).

    Happy planning everyone Laughing
