Re: Meet and greet

  • Hi I am Dodgers I live in Los Angeles and I am engaged. FI and I have been together 3 years and we live together. I love baseball and watch it religiously. I just got into reading and I love it. I wish I had done it when I was younger. I also loved to watch my shows(SOA,Mad Men,Modern Family,New Girl, BBT,GG and lots of reality TV).

FI and I both work in commercial printing( we are competitors) I am getting a promotion and should be starting at the end of the month. I love going out and seeing products that both FI and my company produced. Especially movies. I am sure there is more but I can't think of anything right now. Feel free to ask my questions.

My garden had some fails - my green peppers didn't turn out, killed my dill (three years in a row now lol), beans kept getting eaten by bunnies and my carrots were stunted, my green onions didn't grow at all but otherwise I've always had tons of tomatos and my herbs flourish.
  • Hiya.  I'm pirate.  H and I have been married a year and a half and we have one puppy, Emma (see sig) and one parakeet, Blueberry.  I've lived all my life in NC and think that it's the best state and everyone who is cool should move here.

I think zombie preparedness is silly, but regular disaster prepardness is smart.  I'm a lifelong Girl Scout.  I don't watch much television, although since we got a DVR that is changing.  I like reading and gardening and learning new things.

Hi! I am Alli, and I have a 6+ month old son. My H and I were married in September 2010 and we live in Boston with our 2 Miane Coon cats. I am a SAHM, which is 10x harder than I ever thought it would be.  I love to read (we have 5000+ books), watch TV and follow sports. I have 2 bachelors degrees (in Exercise Physiology and Project Management) and I hope to go back to school for my MBA at some point.  I was an EMT back in the day, but my diagnosis of multiple sclerosis put an end to that (I feel good, though). My H and I have known each other for 20 years, but we took the long and winding road to marriage - I was married to his best friend, and when that relationship ended, H & I decided to give a new relationship a try. But that is a story for another day ;)

    That about sums it up!

I will be doing my first huge garden of veggies this year, I WISH I could grow peppers but I believe it is not hot enough here.

Most people I have encountered do not like the same hobbies as us so I rarely talk about it because I understand why some people dislike our hobbies.
My husband is an avid hunter (and I tag along) we have a taxidermy company and plan to travel the world on hunts. We go to Africa next year (no, we are not shooting the dangerous five and we do not hunt endangered species) and we have a bear hunting trip in may, which is my favorite hunting trip we do. I missed it last year because of my car accident so I cannot wait for it this year.
  • I'm Sesh and I am 26 (ugh). I have the best kitty in the world, Sir Whisky Sour, who is 16. Been married to H for almost 2 years, but we've been together for just over 5.5 years. We live in Florida and I'd do anything to live somewhere else. Our dream is Hawaii.

I like to read, mostly YA and fantasy novels, but I prefer to write books over read them. The only thing I really want out of my life is to be a full-time author. I'm not very friendly or social, and prefer to spend my time inside on the computer or watching TV. My favorite shows are Justified, Deadliest Catch, TWD, True Blood, and Terra Nova.

Um. I spend most of my day daydreaming, even when I'm talking to people. Sometimes I imagine book scenes I'm writing, sometimes that I'm a character in my favorite book or movie, and other times I just imagine things I want to happen. I have irrationally high expectations of myself as an author, so I'm often disappointed in myself for failing to make these daydreams a reality. But, I'm working on it.

My totally random interests include Greek gods, scrapbooking, editing papers, tattoos, movies, looking at phptographs of unique places around the world, and drizzling bits of water on top of ice cream to make little crunchy bits of chocolate icicles.

    Yes, my boobs are legendary.

Also, I met my husband when I was 12 and he was my first boyfriend and first kiss!  But we took a few breaks... including one that lasted seven years and where I almost got engaged to someone else.  Thank God that didn't happen.

Here is my dog.  She is the shiit.

  • Hi y'all!

I'm SarahP. I live in Austin but I was raised in Southern Lousiana. DH and I have been married since 11/2010 and have an almost 7mo son, Spartacus ;). DH is Romanian and has weird parents. My parents are just as weird, but without the language barrier. I am the Controller at an institute of higher learning.

I used to like running and triathlons but I just can't get it up for them anymore. Baby takes too much time. I used to go to bootcamp 6 days a week, but that doesn't happen anymore either. I'm just getting back in the gym and I feel pretty amazing about that.

I love Words with Friends, FB and Maury Povich. Michael C Hall and Jason Statham are hot. As is George Hincapie. I love college football (Geaux Tigers!) and really don't watch any other sports besides swimming and track, but they aren't on so often.

I'm Erin. :) H and I have been married since July (time flies!). We live in Washington State. I'm an accounting clerk. If I'm not at a WSU football or basketball game, you'll find me at home gaming with my husband. My H and I were both born and raised here. Our parents live next door to each other and my H, BIL, FIL, and dad are all in law enforcement.

  • Nebb, I just spotted an ad campaign we are printing for Mad Men. I think you would love it. Do you think that the new season is going to pick up right where it left off or jump ahead the amount of time it had been off air?

  • I'm mkrupar (or MK). I post on here once in a while. My H and I just relocated to Northern Virginia. He works in MD and I'll be starting a new job in Alexandria in a week or so.

We have 4 dogs, but only two can live with us in our current apartment. The other two are being "fostered" by one of his coworkers. I miss them. Lots. We get to see them often so that's good. We plan on buying a house (probably in MD) when our lease is up in a year.

Let's see. I like froyo, working out, reading, and cooking. I feel like I lead a boring life, but you know, it's mine and I love it.

  • Zombie preparedness may seem silly, but I think its the one thing that if it happened you don't want to be totally unprepared for. Unprepared in a zombie outbreak, you're dead.

  • Oh, since everyone is talking about Hs/FIs....

FI and I will have been together almost 6 years by the time of the wedding.  He proposed on the beach in April with a cute little book he made that had pics of when we first met until most recent and the last page said "Will you marry me?"  Yup.  Wedding is the 15th of September.
  • Alli, I was obsessed with Maine Coon cats back when I was a kid-- there was this encyclopedia on my computer back then, Encarta maybe? And I wanted to learn all about animals, so when I found Maine Coons, I fell in love. So fluffy!

Do you have a yard?  I only have a small deck to work with, but I hope to invest in some nice larger planters that I can grow some other things in.

Here is a picture of my herbs.  This year I want to expand on those and do some more.  The parsley was thriving, but then I think something died in it....it was rancid and had to be thrown out.

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/0/14/203e432f-d0c0-48e7-ae57-fb6399468662.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"><img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/0/14/203e432f-d0c0-48e7-ae57-fb6399468662.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>

I think I'll do tomatoes again, but Ill need to get something to protect them from the squirrels.  Maybe some wire mesh or something.

Gardening gives me great joy and I hope to one day have a decent sized yard.

Do you know who Rick Bayless is by any chance?  I got to take a tour of his Urban Garden in Chicago and it was the most amazing garden I've even seen.  It does supply the produce for his 3 main restaurants in the city, but it was just amazing what he does with the space.  It inspired me.
  • Sarah, I didn't know you were a controller. With my new job I will be working with ours here. I was tiding up the place the other day and I found your holiday card and Sparky made me smile. He is such an adorable child.
  • I love maine coon cats!! They're gorgeous!
  • I'm Leslie.  I'm a CPA and I live in Colorado.  I met DH on eHarmony and we've been married 2.5 years.  I have 2 daughters, 18 and 21; DH has a daughter 19 and a son 22.  I'm fortysomething.  We have a black lab, Nala, and 3 cats: Cheddar, Muenster, and Cleo (who is sadly fading away at approx 14 years old).  Nala had two knee surgeries last year, and my daughter ran Cheddar over with the car (he's ok now - broken pelvis).  Three of the kids are in college; one is getting married this summer.

I love to ride my bicycle, hike, camp, and do strength training.  I've signed up for 2 100-mile bike rides this summer, so training is becoming a priority now.  I also love to read, cook, and quilt, and I'm learning how to knit.  I have a tremendous love of Pinterest.

And my cousin may be Chief on the same boat as LetsHike's DH, but I'm not sure. Could be a fun coincidence.

I'm Nugget.  I live in Minnesota.  I'm also black, but I can assure you that I'm not the only black person in Minnesota.  But I would be if I moved to North Dakota, because black people don't like it there.

I like noodles.  And Noodle.  That's my husband.  The capitalized one.  The other one is in reference to actual noodles, which I enjoy with butter and cheese.  I also like my Kindle.  And Dr. Pepper.

I don't have babies, even though they'd be mixed babies and the general consensus on mixed babies is MIXED BABIES ZOMG4EVR.  But I'm still not having any, because what if I have a mixed ginger baby?  They kind of creep me out and I'm already creeped out about what comes out of my vagina.  I don't paint with it though, because where would I even hang that?

    The end.

  • I'm Nicole, I'm 25, H and I have been married for 2 1/2 years, we just bought a house in April. I live in Montana, I work in online marketing and also teach a fitness class on the side. I love to travel, I love reading (just got a kindle fire, pretty excited about that!), I get withdrawals from shopping (there's not much shopping available in the small town I live in), I like cooking, especially trying new recipes, and I like working out and helping others get in shape. I lurk here a lot more than I post, mainly because by the time I get to reading threads they're already dead, but I find you ladies a lot of fun an enjoy what everyone has to contribute.
