So yesterday there was a baptism of a baby at my church. So FI and I are just standing there minding our own business when I look over and see my mother just beaming at us. FI said she had her "impregnate my daughter now" look on. Later she comes up to me and is like" Oh isn't that baby precious!" Beam. Smile. Ask me with her eyes to make her a grandmother. Good Lord woman! Let me get married first! So ya, my mother has the grandmother fever, bad. You may recall I am in no hurry to have children (like 10 years from now) so I feel kind of bad for her. Though she may get lucky and my idiotic brother may knock some girl up and she might get her wish, just not from me. *sigh*
Tell me about your weekends? Congrats to the girls who got engaged!

Re: Mothers and Babies
FI's mom, though, I have no idea. She held a baby shower for a friend at her house yesterday and I hightailed it out of the room so fast I didn't even see her reaction (FI and I were there to pick something up and left just as the shower started. They were talking about c-sections; I thought I was going to throw up).
My weekend was blah. Had a nervous breakdown out of nowhere yesterday, that was fun. I'm looking forward to Friday already.
THis weekend was pretty good. H and I had 90 minute massages on Saturday afternoon, then his company holiday party Saturday night, which was fun.
This weekend, Andrew and I made donzens and dozens of christmas cookies! And on Sunday we had some awesome BBQ and decorate the rest of our Christmas tree.
Got engaged on Saturday and spent Sunday just relaxing.
My mother also has baby fever! She told FI and I that it was okay if we skipped Halloween until we had a baby. We just laughed at her. So, she spent all of Halloween dropping hints about us getting married. So, she got one wish. She can wait a few Halloweens for the next one. I just laugh it off and change the subject.

[QUOTE]My in-laws are dying for us to make a baby. <strong>H's dad point blank told me "I want a granddaughter" before we even got engaged.</strong> But it won't be happening for at least 3 more years, so they'll have to wait. My parents are in no hurry to become grandparents, thank goodness. My weekend was pretty good. I went to a cookie exchange party on Sunday. I worked a few hours, which was no fun. And now it is monday. . . boo.

What if you have a boy? Does that mean he wants you to keep procreating until you have a girl? ;)
My weekend was incredibly busy and I'm sooo ready to go home for the holidays.

[QUOTE]My mother gets the grandmother-fever occasionally, too. When I was 18 she even mentioned that if I got accidentally pregnant, she'd "be mad for like an hour". <strong>I get it a lot less now, though, since I've told her that we may not ever have children at all and she'd better work on my brothers</strong>. My weekend was sucktastic. I was sleep-deprived and fighting a sinus infection so I spent all of it trying (and failing) to sleep. But we finally booked our ski trip (we leave on Saturday) so I'm supermegastoked about that.

Ha I love this! We are the same way. Both my siblings have kids so I keep telling everyone that we don't want/need them as I spoil the niece and nephews like crazy. I have always told my mom that I don't want my own kids and she's cool with it but everyone else we tell they try and say "oh some day you'll change your mind and decide to have them" Doubt it since i've been saying this since high school!

My mom is similar. She isn't a fan of weddings (says they are a waste of time and money) and she doesn't want me having kids until I'm married... however she has suggested a venue for me and has saved some "little things" for my future child. o_O
She's a little odd sometimes, but I love her.

</div><div>Thanks! : ) ... I used to go to church when I was little and then my parents stopped going because of odd work hours, so I stopped obviously too, lol. I ended up going to church a few times with my BFF a few times when I was living at home after college and I just really love the atmosphere and it is just kind of peaceful and makes me feel good. So I decided that I want to start going to church again. This is the first one that we've checked out. We're going to see a few others before we pick "our church". FI is on board. He isn't a morning person, but he says he wants to go with me. He's pretty much the same way in that he hasn't been to church in years. He used to play in a church band though a few years ago (bass). So he's hoping he might be able to get back into that too. </div><div>
</div><div>Sorry that was so long, lol. I couldn't explain earlier because I set up a "Stay Focused" extension on my Google Chrome and I was almost out of time. <strong>Thanks Yaga for that suggestion!! : )</strong>
</div>
[QUOTE]BF's mom can't wait for us to have kids. BF and I also really look forward to having kids. I need to stay away from babies because <strong>they make me feel like turning the factory on.</strong>

<div>Haha, that's hilarious. I have to agree with you. I'll be ready way before FI to have babies. </div><div>
</div><div>I'm concerned on how our moms will act once we do have a baby. It'll be a first grandchild for both of them. It'll be a miracle if the child isn't spoiled rotten. I've joked about having a baby now and giving it to FMIL just to try to avoid that a little, lol. My mom will be just as bad though. She's incapable of telling my cousin's kids "no". I told her she won't get away with that with our kids. She immediately told me that her grandma didn't listen to her, so she's not going to listen to me... in more or less words, lol. </div>
