Hi!  I finally got more than 5 hours of sleep last night.  I'm thrilled and feel almost relaxed.
  • HI! I think I slept too much yesterday...I have been up since 6:50 - I'm bummed about it. I'm not tired, I just feel like I shouldn't be up.

OH and we're out of natural PB and this other stuff tastes sweet for some reason. 1st world problems I guess.
  • Me too Mica, I feel more rested, still anxious about how busy I seem to be but more rested.  Now if all of the plants would quit blooming and spreading around their scents and debris I would be one happy girl.  Not really, I love spring and all of the colors and scents, it is just that my head/face/nose etc are not as receptive.

Morning Stacks, how was the anniversary?
  • TK isn't letting me edit - I meant to say 4:50...maybe I'm not as rested as I thought I was lol
  • Good morning.  I have a feeling today is going to be a little crazy.  My grandfather passed away yesterday morning.  It's one of those things where you think you're prepared for it but you're just not.  He was 90, but he was still is relatively good health and living at home.  He died in bed at his own house, the way he wanted to, and I am so, so glad about that.  But it is really hard to watch my mom.  My grandmother died nine years ago, and even though my mom says she had prepared herself for it, she is a mess.  Funeral can't be until next week, because he's a veteran and the state veteran's cemetery is closed for funerals on Monday for Memorial Day.  So it's going to be a long week getting everything ready.

Yay for sleep, Mica!  You must have really needed it.

  • LDY, I don't mind you being up at 4:50.  You aren't ever around in the morning thread, so to me it's a winner sort of start to the day.

Ski, the anniversary was nice, thanks for asking.  We both worked a half day and then went to Jocelyn's preschool graduation, which was cute.  Jocelyn sang a little solo during the program.  Then we went out to dinner at Iron Chef and had yummy hibachi.  I can't complain, it was a good day.  It made me way to ready for the weekend though, so getting through today and tomorrow is going to be hard.

Oh, Bay.  I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
  • Aw, I'm sorry Bay.  Hugs to you and your family.  You can't ever prepare for something like that, just hope you can find peace.
  • Oh Bay, I am sorry for your family's loss.  Grandpa's are really cool people.  Your mom is lucky to have you to lean on.  Take care.

  • Oh no, Bay. I'm sorry! Losing my grandfather was one of the hardest for me. *hugs* You would think that the cemetery would be open on Memorial Day...you know, because they are in the Memorial business...
  • Stacks, that sounds very nice and relaxing.  I have never eaten at an Iron Chef.  And preschool graduations are always so sweet to watch.  I bet J was beaming from ear to ear after her solo.  Glad it was a good one.

I am getting new office furniture today.  They were supposed to start at 7 am,  Where are they?
  • Morning. I'm laying in bed still since I have a doctors appointment in a little bit. Sorry for your loss, Bay. HUGS!

  • Morning!

I managed to get some real sleep last night, but still feel pretty crappy.  I don't have to be downstairs for work stuff until 9:30 though, so I have some time before I need to start getting ready.

Bay- I'm so sorry about your grandfather.  You & your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  • KANE SIGHTING TODAY!!!

I'd love some new office furniture, but since my office is a converted closet, nothing would actually fit in here besides the desk and chair I have now.  It's all good, I have a door AND a window.
  • J was so darn cute in that dress you bought, Stacks. Way to make sure your child is always adorable x10.
  • Thanks, everyone.

LDY, they're open for mourning, but they're not open for burials.  I was kind of surprised, too, TBH.  I guess they just don't want their staff working that day.  Mom's going to the funeral home today, I think the wake is going to be Tuesday, funeral Wednesday.

  • So Mica, you've been in a Florida awhile - are you happy and settled there yet?  Or do you know one day you'll find your way back to the west coast?
  • Bay Im so sorry for your loss!

Yesterday was good, I am so tired I went to sleep by 10:30 - probably before then to be honest. 2 more days & its the weekend... this is a short week & it already feels like its dragging on.

I don't know, Stacks.  I think I could settle here (ask me again in a month when the full force of Florida summers hits).  H is the one who is itching to go back, but I think that's because he doesn't like his job here.
  • Hey stlrz. I'm feeling good. Just anxious!

  • Good morning!

I slept awesome, which is nice as it was the first night I've slept well since my eye surgery last week.

Today, I finish Spring Cleaning and have to go buy the sides for our crawfish boil this weekend.

Today's sunrise is a pretty orangy-pink and there is a deceptively cool breeze blowing in my back yard..it will hit 90 today, so I'm enjoying the spring mornings while they last, by having my coffee and toast on the patio.
  • Hugs Bay. :(

I'm having a good day so far. Really ready for the weekend for some reason. Not totally sure why. Maybe because it's gorgeous?? Hm.

Anyway, I get paid tomorrow (WOOT!) and am thinking I should tell H we should head over to Copenhagen for the day on Saturday. It would be super fun.

Has anyone here gotten a master's online?  I have been looking into it this morning, and for an online MBA, they want me to take the GMAT, which I have zero freaking interest in. Plus, I can't even take the damn thing until September- in Gothenburg, which is total balls. George Washington University has a waiver for people who have been in the workforce for 5 years, but they don't have the program I want. BLAH. Does anyone have other ideas for me?

  • I didn't know Texas folks did Crawfish boils. The more you know. I would probably kill for a legit crawfish boil right now.

Fezz - you are insanely close to single digits.

Mica - You can't go back until I say you can go back.

  • Morning, all. Bay, I'm so sorry for your loss. No matter how "prepared" mentally you are to lose a relative, it's still a shock.

Ski, enjoy your new office furniture. Stacks, your anniversary sounds like it was really nice. LDY, the peanut butter tastes sweet because they add sweeteners to it (often molasses). I've gotten so I won't eat the stuff if it's not the natural variety. (Does that make the other stuff unnatural?) Mica, I'm not at all envious of Florida summers. Georgia summers are bad enough. Fezz, GL at the dr. today. May everything go according to your plans.

I have 2 more days of exams this week, then 2 days of postplanning next week, then I'm out for the summer!!! Of course, I go back to work at the end of July, so it's not the 3 months off that everyone thinks it is. But I'm not going to complain, now that the end is in sight.
  • Mica, I'm drawing a blank, what does your husband do again?  Any way to change jobs in the area?  Florida summer doesn't suck, well at least not to me.  I can't wait for the day I can live there year round, especially in the summertime!  It's going to be 90 here this weekend and I can't wait.  Right now I'm wishing I had a private backyard so I could lay out.
  • Snippy, I haven't looked at the requirements in a long time, but have you looked at Penn State's online MBA program?  It's supposed to be one of the best out there, but I don't know about the GMAT requirement.  I got my master's degree online at Liberty University, but I don't remember if they have an MBA program or not.
