Disaster? PIP mixing too many styles....

What the heck is the style of my dress? I know which accessories I LOVE, but none of them go with my dress.  I will look like a disaster if I don't have help!

My dress is more "traditional" looking than what I would pick if I went shopping today...BUT, I do love the dress.  It is more "sweet" than "vintage."  It is ice blue with bright white lace.  My wedding is July 22 and I've put off accessories as long as I can.  It's time to separate what I like from what I can actually pull off.

Here are crappy pics of the dress:
Ice blue, bright white lace, lace-up back, long train with lace tiers

Here are my questions:

1. Jewelry:
Jewelry 1: Dramatic earrings/no necklace?

Jewelry 2: Wear both but keep them simple?  I like the Stella & Dot glint set

Jewelry 3: This one with diamond stud earrings?

2. My Head
My hair is shorter but will be pinned up in a loose updo.  I am having succulent flowers and considered a succulent hair piece.  I think it might be too much.
Hair 1: Succulent, veil under updo?

Hair 2:  What length veil?  Is this too much:

Hair 3:  Head piece from whichgoose (etsy)?  Probably too much....

Any other suggestions?

3. Shoes:  can I pull off a colored wedge?  Bridesmaid dresses are marine blue (navy).  They are wearing various colored shoes.  I hate heels but can do a wedge.

Any help would be appreciated more than you could imagine!  I'm a fashion disaster...

  • If I were you, I'd say you can totally get away with adding the blingy jewelry. I love love love the drop down earrings. But I also think the earring/necklace is adorable. As far as a birdcage veil, I don't know if it can work..I'm also not a huge fan of them so perhaps I'm not the best person to give my opinio on that. I would think you could still carry out the vintagy-look by getting some sort of jewled headpiece...

  • I'd say stay away from the birdcage veil with that dress. I love the first earrings you posted! I think you could wear those with a simple necklace.

As for shoes, you can wear whatever shoes you want! They will be barely noticeable anyway. And I do love those first earrings, too. If you wear a jeweled headpiece, you wouldn't need a necklace.

  • Thank you for the suggestions thus far :)

I am ok on the shoes, and ok on the jewelry, it's the veil that is giving me trouble.

    Plain, under the updo?

  • Your dress is quite busy so I would stick with simple jewelry as to not distract from the dress.  #2 jewelry looks nice.  Not sure about veil, but definitely not #3.
  • I think jewelry option #2 would look best and a very simple veil.  I think you can go with a longer veil just as long as it doesn't have any frills so as not to take away from the dress.

  • I am also not a fan of bird cages as a rule.  I like the succulent but I know it would be way too heavy for my hair and would pull or flop out constantly.  Also I would be afraid that it would catch on the veil.
