where is everyone?

Re: where is everyone?

  • Haha Stlrz... I've used that one before :).
  • I would have killed him, Cfas.  ESPECIALLY since it was chilli.  Don't mess with my freaking chilli.  The only time H gets a pass with asking about my cooking is if he thinks I'm making something too spicy.  I can handle way spicier food than he can and sometimes I forget and get a little heavy handed.

  • My dad says one of the biggest fights he and my mom ever had was over him telling her she should ask his mom for her recipe for whatever dish she was making at the time....
  • Eagles, I feel like it would be amusing to watch you interact with your FI.

  • Half a bag of sugar? That is ridiculous on its own! I would have been furious!
  • H is smart and he always tells me my stuff is better.  Ask him about the corned beef.  I was so proud of myself.

  • My MIL has far superior chili. I always call her when I'm making chili and add whatever she says.

I'm (un?)fortunate to have an H that has no clue about cooking. He couldn't suggest anything because he doesn't know anything. Sometimes I think it would be helpful if he had a clue because then he could cook sometimes.

<div>My dad's first wife apparently made really great chicken pot pie. At the beginning of my parents' marriage he once suggested that he get the recipe from his first wife so my mom could make it. She was so mad she didn't make chicken pot pie for the first 16 years of their marriage. </div><div>

  • H is a better cook than I am.  He will probably do most of the cooking when he's home.  :)  This makes me happy.
  • Your chili sounds awesome cfas. I want some now.. And stuffed peppers. FI occasionallymakes turkey tacos, but otherwise I do the cooking. I like to cook mostly, but FI  is really picky so ocasionally I get annoyed.

This is my mom.  My dad does not cook.  The only things he can make are grilled cheese, soup from the can, and anything you can pop in the oven straight from the freezer.  He does take charge of the grill, though, but it's not like he puts together these awesome marinades for chicken & steak.

ETA: When asked what he wants for dinner, it's almost always some variety of I don't care.
  • my husband and i are both great cooks.  if we have children, they are going to have some pretty awesome palates.

  • Mandy you'll probably end up with the kid that will only eat spaghetti noodles with butter.  Your talents will be wasted.  So, you can just go ahead and adopt me and I will eat all of your delicious food.

I hope I end up with that kid since that's all I can cook.

FI is the same, he hates cooking because he ends up burning pretty much everything.  I try to get him to cook so he'll learn and always throws out his ability to burn water as an excuse.  He really did burn water once.  Which is why it is so weird when he comes in all trying to question my authority.  Dude, I cook dinner for us every night, I think I know what i'm doing.

Fi has taught me just about everything I know about cooking. He still does most of the cooking and I play sous chef by chopping everything up. I've become a very good chopper :)
