Angel: google NPR vagina Jim Stamas. That should get you the NPR article. Jim was offended by a woman saying Vagina on the floor during an abortion debate. It's amazingly terrifying that this ish is happening.

I have not watched the movie yet, though it's in my queue. I just finished the book.

I saw that SB was having this debate, but I had the audiobook, and I maintain that I still read it. This summer, I have to spend 20 hours in the car each week, and the NPR station doesn't come in very well. Audiobooks are saving my sanity.

Well I wasn't exactly sure of what I was getting in to and the movie's mostly in French with English subtitles, but I think it's good so far. I haven't read the book though so I didn't have any prejudgments.

Have you guys ever discovered a really easy and obvious solution for a problem that's lasted years, then felt really stupid for not thinking of it sooner? Out of sheer laziness, I accidentally figured out how to keep the dog out of the litter box while still allowing the cat access.

The other day, I was too lazy to put away a small stepladder, so I left it in the hallway leading to the litter box. The cat walks right through the rungs, but the dog just stands there and stares at it. Genius.

ETA: I am easily amused and impressed.

I should add that this stepladder is small and is not blocking access to anything but the litter box. It's also positioned to conveniently allow access to water plants on a shelf.

i hate to do this to yall again, but cat people how do you keep your cat from kicking all the litter out of the box onto the floor? The laundry room is like one big littler box now, to the point she's like, "Hey there's litter on the floor I must poop here" I sweep at least twice a day but I do have a full time job.

I really do use the rubbermaid tubs and cut a cat door, put duct tape over the rough edges, and use that.

It contains things a little better.

Mari, do you just have an open box? I like the one's with lids. My cat still steps out, but she doesn't fling it around. I also have a vacuum right there and it gets vacuumed every day when I pick the box.
