hair and clip in extensions

i am in the mist of a wedding hair nightmare haha.  long story short, i had  a tiral yesterday and didnt like it.  i made the appointment because i am trying to not drive far the day of the friday wedding to get my hair done at my reg salon. she will do a nice job but its far.  plus she is going to be 250-500 bucks, depending if i can find clip in human hair extensions to get the fuller look. so im hair sytlist shopping and in a mess with it.

what is the avg price you are paying for an updo with hair clip in peices? the quotes i am getting are like 400-600 bucks

thanks

I live in Old Bridge, NJ but i'm going to a salon in Staten Isl. And they are charging 125 for an up-do plus extensions. I'm not getting extensions though.

I was told by this other girl you can find real hair extensions @ the Sally stores for $60 each.

That price seems really high.  If you are not set on your current salon, I would still find other quotes.  I'm sure there are openings because you can either go earlier or later than other brides if a salon is booked.

I didn't pay too much attention to extensions on my contact (since I've been growing my hair out for over a year) but I think it starts just over $100 for the extensions.  $250 I can understand including real extensions for you but not $500, that's ridiculous.

If they are getting the extensions for you and they aer getting good quality stuff then I can understand the $500 price tag becasue the extensions alone are a 200-300. You can get them at a sally beauty place but I found nothing matched my hair quite right so I went to a plance in NYC that has been around for ages but they mix colors and get you the desired length and color of extensions. So they matchd my base color and my highlighted color and they look amazing.

Mine, with hair extensions is $250+... but you have to buy the hair extensions. If it's $250 I think that's about right... $500 is a lot!

    I bought my real-hair extension from http://www.proextensions.com/
they were $99 for 20" length.

My regular hair sylist put them in for me and only charged $90 (I think), but that's probably because I am a long time customer.  I don't know what she would charge people off the street.

she lowered it by 120..so my total is 525 to have the hair match mine perfectly and come to my house

or i go with 550 to go to my regular stylist and get the hair that match.. but i have to drive 45 min each way.. OR i can pay less if i find the hair whereever the hair  place is lol

I had clip in human hair extensions, my girl gave me a really cheap price (she's been my hair girl for years) but if I was to go through my salon as a whole, they still would have allowed me to buy my own extensions (70 bucks at sallys) and do the hair for 150. I would rather shoot myself than pay 400 for that.

$525-$550 on hair that with one poop of a bird could be ruined... wow. That just seems crazy to me. But if you have it in your budget- all the more power to ya!

I think that sounds REALLY high.  I had glue-in real hair extensions that matched my hair perfectly and it was nowhere near $500.  I would say it was around $150 for everything (extensions and styling).

I would look around for a different stylist.  $525 is still a lot.  You shouldn't be paying more than $200.  I was really happy with www.proextension.com. It look my girl like 1 1/2 hrs to do my hair the day of the wedding and they were comfortable and lasted all night.  Also don't buy synthetic hair if you plan on curling them b/c they don't hold the curl as well as real hair does.
