There don’t seem to be too many posts on here regarding Asheville. I think it might help if you have any vendors you can suggest for just about everything. I know there are a lot of “destination Asheville” brides out there like myself that need some help!! Affordable options are especially needed.
Have any vendors you can suggest, especially in these categories?
- Venue
- Transportation
- Wedding Cake / Bakery
- Photographer
- Videographer
- DJ
- Florist
- Hair
- Makeup
- Accommodations
- Officiants
Re: Calling all Asheville brides! Vendor suggestions
You might find some information there
Bakery - Try Sister's McMullen Photographers - Check out Regina Holder and Alisha Silver! I have been in contact with both and they are both very quick to respond and very nice! Hope this helps!
She used Livesound Entertainment (DJ) and Tuesday Frogs (Photographer).
[QUOTE]Hi Daydreamzz, I just recently moved from Asheville, so I can give you a few suggestions... As far as venues, I absolutely love Homewood ( http://www.mybelovedhomewood.com/ ). It has multiple outdoor locations and a beautiful reception site. Also check out the Arboretum, and the Grand Bohemian Hotel (beautiful!). Transportation - check with the City of Asheville for the trolleys they use for their historic tours. Also check out LaZoom tours, they have a funky purple bus that they do tours on as well. Just as a side note, Sisters McMullen are absoloutley terrible. They wont work with you and one of the sisters had a very bad attitude. Very bad experience there.
Homewood is beautiful, but very costly
Try Celine and Company, they run a venue called "On Broadway" Thats where I am getting married. Its gorgeous, and pretty affordable. $5000 for everything, except the dj, photographer, and florist. Thats for food, 4 hour open bar, they set up, tear down, everything.
Try Shutter Shack Photography, they are super.
Icing on the Cake is great for the cakes too.
I emailed a lot of cake bakers and so far only one has even gotten back to me. A lot of times, I do kind of judge the vendor on whether they respond to my emails because I do everything by email and I need someone who I know will respond. I'm trying True Confections bakery in February. The lady has been extremely responsive and the price is right!
I didn't look at Celine and Company but I kind of wish I did! That price is amazing!
- Wedding Cake / Bakery- I personally used Sisters McMullen and it was AMAZING, no problems with them.
- Photographer: Sarah Rominger photography for sure!
- DJ: Cory Short with Get Vocal Entertainment
- Hair: Images Salon off Brevard Rd
- Makeup: same as hair
- Officiants: Joe Knight, Magistrate Buncombe County - will travel to wedding site for a tip
